This area is mainly the inside of the Shiningblade castle. Guests and friends can come here, or the family can simply come down here to sit by a big warm fire.

The inner chambers is basicly the second floor, and holds all of the guest, family, and other rooms.

In one of the many chambers that branched out from the grandiose greeting hall of the castle, where the hearth rested cold and dark and the high windows graced light upon not but dust, a shadow, driven deep into one of the corners furthest from the light, stirred. Or, more accurately, something stirred within it.
A dark shape slid out from the very wall, falling into place within the shadows were it blended in, a void within darkness. The dark shape then rose, slowly, until it stood as tall--well, maybe not as tall--as a man. Red eyes glimmered behind a screen of black.
Derek examined the meeting room critically, keeping within the shadows. It was fairly spaceous, though not breath-takingly so like the grand hall. He made sure to avoid that chamber. Still, this was the furthest the phantom man had dared to delve into this castle--he knew not its name or the name of who lorded over it. He was a stranger here, and while this room, furnished with plushy couches, high-backed chairs, and a side table where decanters might rest when the room finds itself inhabited, was obviously meant to entertain visitors, he was hardly welcomed. He was just a ghost, afterall. And no one liked ghosts.
Finding the room barren, if in a dire need of dusting, Derek drifted forward, exploring this newly discovered portion of the vast castle that he could never have even dreamed of living in. It was so grand, so vast, so horribly decadent. Not that he was jealous. He could partake in its glory, too, if he so wished, albeit from within the shadows. Granted that he didn't get caught.
Oh, but how exciting would it be to be spotted? The alarm bells screaming their call, the guards hounding him at every turn, the royals hiding under their beds or in their closets or wherever it is nobles went when trouble rears its ugly head before them. Ah, the thrill of a grand escape. If it ever came to that, Derek might not even use his incorporeality to slip away. Maybe.
Finding a couch that wasn't draped in sunlight, Derek tossed his cloak to his side and settled down upon the velvety cushins, maveling at how soft they were. Laying his head back, his feet crossed in front of him and his arms resting upon the back of the couch, the once-assassin closed his eyes and savored the comfort. These royals really had it made. And this was just for guests! The nobility must rest themselves upon the arses of the gods themselves! He smiled behind his collar at the thought.
Still, he had best be careful. It wouldn't do to doze off and have a servant, or better yet, one of the nobles and their noble guests finding him, a poor vagrant, lounging on their furniture. Ah, if only...

Rosealine stepped into the room, looking around. "I have been slacking...." she trailed off after mumbling the words silently. She moved farther into the room, her red dress, and black leather boots making no sound, but conforming to her body tightly. She looked around again, finally spotting what had had her senses going ballistic. A soft smile seemed to cross her thin, crimson red lips. Glossy black hair flowed about her shoulders, as she turned to the, seemingly, ghostlike man sitting on the couch before her. The only reason she knew him to be non-living were the senses coming off of him, something she had smelled often here in the castle. There was always that one vengeful knight, or that one servant out to kill their master. Rose knew she would never go there. When she died she would simply go to rest. At least that was her hopes. She moved closer to him silently. Could a ghost be scared? she wondered thoughtfully. Suddenly she jumped forward a bit, after being very quiet, and having already masked her aura and scent on her search for him. "BOOO!!!!" she said loudly, noticing his eyes about to drift closed. Her 'boo' was playful, and it was still even quiet, yet loud enough to be slightly scary if at all. Her giggle though gave away the fact that she was trying to be scary, and failing. Finally she smiled, bending over slightly to look at him. "Hello there" she said sweetly, her voice soft like a gentle breeze breathing on the flowers. She wore a soft perfume, smelling much like that of roses. Her auburn eyes glittering in the soft light in the room.

The alert gleam of a predator instantly chased the dreariness from his eyes at the playful jest, his hands tensing to draw blades. Almost forgetting himself, the instincts he had honed as an assassin still thick in his blood as it seemed, he'd nearly drawn steel. Nearly. He was a stranger there, and yet he saw only the woman's--aye, a stunning woman at that--smile. He forced himself to calm down. A smile returned under his collar.
Derek slowly drew his hands through his hair, pushing the glossy black bangs out of his scarlet eyes. Ah, yes, she was stunning. It was a bit difficult to keep his gaze on her eyes.
"Why, hello there," he said slyly, his voice muffled slightly by his cloak. "Have you come to join me?" Then, suddenly remembering where he was, he added, with a hint of suspicioun but no less silk in his tone, "Or are you here to chase me out? I'd understand--no hard feelings or anything of the sort--but I'd have to get you back for nearly scaring me back to death."

Her soft, delicate hand came to her lips, as she giggled softly. She shook her head as he asked her the questions. She had known he would probably attack her, or close to it, but she hadn't expected a ghost person to be scared. She giggled again then smiled, her smile shown well in her eyes. Her glossy hair fell about her right shoulder, hanging down like a small fountain of black from her neck. She brushed a bit of her hair behind her ear, then looked at him again, with those bright auburn eyes.
"No, i haven't come to chase you away. That would be no fun." she giggled softly again, as she shifted her body wait a bit to her other leg. "I guess I could join you. But i came to find out what had been making my neck hairs stand up straight earlier." She smiled sweetly, her voice smooth, with a hint of merriment to it. She moved forward, before turning her body around to sit next to him on the couch, a soft giggle coming from her lips again.

"So," Derek spoke when she sat, "does this playful, crimson-clad beauty sitting beside me have name?" Fully corporeal, the phantom found that he enjoyed the closeness of their forms. It was a rare feeling when one spent half of their existance as nothing but a ghost, a wandering spirit. After a time you forget how the sensation of feeling actually feels. He fought the urge to idle a bit closer.
The almost foreign sensation of another being next to him made him feel a bit more self-concious, as well. He couldn't help but take note that he carried only the faintest scent of leather about him whilst this scarlet maiden held a soothing bouquet about her form. He tugged a little at the concealing collar of his cloak, his mask, as though it might help him take in her scent more. To his surprise it did help, and he found that he could breathe with more ease than he remembered ever feeling. He pulled at the collar a little more. It had never felt so stiffling before.

She giggled softly again, as his words were kind, and soft. She looked up into his eyes with her auburn eyes. "This beauties name is Rosealine, or Rose, Or even Rosey. You may call me what you wish though, for i am only a servant." she seemed to pout slightly as she said this, but she was back to all smiles quickly.
"What about you, Mr. Handsome ghostly guy..?" she asked playfully. "What is your name?" Her soft eyes watched him as he pulled away his collar a bit, and she almost waned to pull it away so she could see his face. She could smell his leathery musk like scent, and she seemed to breath it in completely, closing her eye for a second.

"Well, Rosealine,"--he caught himself, them smiled even more broadly, though it remained unseen--"Nay, Rosey, for it sound so much sweeter. Rosey, this ghost's name is Derek Stormblade." He tried to make a flashly, eloquent bow but it was just so difficult when sitting. Giving the theatrics up for that were apparently lost to him, he instead playfully added, "Or Storm. Or even Stormy, if you'd so prefer."
Ah, it felt so enchanting to rest his spirit here beside this radiant beauty, this rose resting beside him. He didn't know what it was about Rosealine that so charmed him. Perhaps that mad spellflinger had changed more than just his body all those years ago, something that had lingered in the shadows of his torn soul that only the light of another could have revealed. Or maybe he just loved the way she giggled.

She giggled softly at him correcting himself. She liked this man, errr, ghost man. The thought made her giggle ever so slightly again. She watched him try to bow, and she had to look away, as she felt her cheeks turn a bit red. No one ever even attempted to bow to her. His words made her giggle happily, as he mimicked her.
"I think Derek will do just fine. she said it softly, watching his form, as she wondered who he was, and if he could come back. It would be hard to even kiss a ghost on the cheek. Which for some reason, right now, she felt like doing so. The thought made her blush again, before she could look away. As she knew he saw her blush again, she didn't look away, looking into his eyes. Such an entrancing color, yet, he was a ghost, and it made her almost start to pout.

((Introducing a new RPC. Hope you don't mind. ^_^;; ))

Lorenden enters the room Rodealine and Derek are in. A hissing laugh is emitting from the quarenthal as he enters the room. He no longer looks very human. From the waist down he has the body of a snake. His scales are orange, neon green, neon blue, crimson, and black. His human torso has intricate, almost runic designs done upon it in scales of the same color only they are tiny and look almost soft. Indeed, they actually are quite soft and very sensitive to touch. His hissing laugh is due to his recent activities. Being in the castle in this form has scared quite a few people who have laid eyes upon the fallen king. Serves them right for imprisoning me in this land. Keeping me down in that damp dungeon. He runs a hand through his red hair, smoothing it back.
She shakes her head, not finding the new gladiator's antics funny at all. She hasn't said as much aloud as of yet and she most likely will not. It isn't her way. She is a princess, yes, so she really should say something or remind the quarenthal of his place... But she does not. She just isn't like that. She's soft spoken and kind. Shy really. That she is in this man's company at all is surprising really. She usually only speaks to Rosealine. She likes the servant very much, viewing her as a friend and almost like a sister. Her bright purple eyes look up at Lorenden. He is actually good company. Despite his hate for her family, he's been quite civil with her. Her eyes then spot Rosealine and a bright smile spreads across Nital's lips. She doesn't go to her friend, though, seeing that she is speaking with someone else. She isn't one to be rude.

Roseline looked up at the two, as they entered the room. Her eyes also light up at the sight of Nital. She looks at Derek though, and a slight thoughful expression crosses her lips. She smiles thoughtfully, then points at the two. "Derek, the girl is Princess Nital, and i do not know the Naga man."
Roselin referred to the man as a Naga, since that is what she knew the species to be called. She smiled at Derek for a moment then jumpedup, runningto Nital, and taking her hand. "Come meet my new friend Nital!" she said softly, in excitement. She drug the princess over to Derek giggling the whole way. "Derek, princess Nital. Princess Nital, Derek." she said smiling playfully.

Derek was truly entranced. The koi way Roseline smiled, the bright chime of her voice, the playful way in which she acted, and the enticing flush of her cheeks when she blushed were nearly overwhelming to his senses. He didn't mind the way she looked into his eyes, either, which he so often before would avert from others', keeping himself shrouded in a cloak of anonymity. He would have gladly bared his face to the light if she would grace his cheek with the caress of her lips. He would have done so, but he found that he could not move, even to look away from her face. Not that he would want to.
Fate, however, seemed to have a different course in mind.
As when the red-clad beauty had snuck up upon him in what seemed like such a very long time ago, the hissing snicker from the door caused Derek to tense as though to fall into a combative position. But he couldn't draw steel, not with Rosey sitting so close to him, and especially not so when she spoke to one of the newcomers--blast, there were two of them, though hardly "only two" with that snake-man there--in so friendly a manner. He would have sighed with relief at it not being the demon, but found that he barely had any breath at all.
When Rosey brought the other, less, ah, "noticable" newcomer forward and named her a princess, his throat caught. Had he really been so noticable that even a royal of the very castle he had snuck into knew he was there? So much for his earlier bravado. Perhaps actually encountering a woman like Rosey had drained the appeal of leaving the castle. He was glad that his cloak hid just how forced his own smile was. Still, to his credit, when the phantom man spoke his voice carried only the faintest hint of a waver beneath its silk tone.
"Charmed, Princess Nital." He did not stand and bow or lower his head as he figured one would do when being acquainted with nobility. He didn't know what to expect from this woman or her serpentine pet, so the last thing he would do would be to bare his neck to them. He might be able to trust Roseline, but he knew not of these others. It failed to dawn on him, then, just how ridiculous that sounded.

Nital hugs Rosealine before Derk speaks, showering the woman's rosy cheeks with kisses before giggling herself and releasing her friend. She bows to Derek, an odd thing for a princess to do. "A pleasure to meet you, Sir Derek." She straights, a friendly smile upon her lips and lock og her white hair caressing her right cheek as she moves. "You needn't use my title really. Such formality really isn't necessary with such a low princess.." She leans in slightly, lowering her tone. "It's said Father doesn't like me much." She straightens, not at all ashamed that her father dislikes her. She isn't bothered by the fact either. "I do hope you're enjoying your stay with us. You are staying, aren't you? You make Rosey smile and that makes me so very happy."
PostPosted: Mon Oct 08, 2007 4:52 pm

Suddenly, the cushions he sat upon didn't feel quite to comforting any longer. Perhaps it had been the "Sir" title she'd added on to his name, something only pure and noble knights attain upon their glorious time of knighthood. The term was wasted upon a darkened wretch such as himself. The notion of him being compared to one so noble made his chest constrict, though he wasn't fully sure why. No, no, it must have been the serpent-man that made him feel so unusual, he told himself, trying to rationalize the cold feeling resting in his belly, that gripped his heart. Though Derek himself was hardly natural, the man...thing practically radiated otherworldliness. Again he deluded himself. A trivial thing like that had never caused such a conflict in his soul in the past. The phantom man tried to shove such thoughts into the deepest part of his mind. It still nagged at him, but he could at least ignore it then.
Feeling restless, Derek arose from the couch before he answered to anything. With his hair once more shadowing his eyes and the collar of his cloak still standing high, his expression seemed neutral. What the black hid was him chewing nervously on his lower lip and the dark rings under his scarlet eyes that hadn't been there before. He suddenly looked more haggard than lithe, as though something so simple as a few words had stricken the dark man several powerful blows. He was not a creature of emotion, of sensations, and so he found that his resolve was non-existant. It had been over a decade since he'd ever felt so...uncertain. He had to turn away to speak.
"Well," he began as he drifted a little bit away from the two women, drawing closer to the wall behind the couch he had rested upon with Rosey at his side, again avoiding the light from the windows as though it would sear. He could only look at Nital and Rosey through the corner of his eyes--he couldn't seem to face them fully, but he did not want to appear detatched--and when he spoke again, his voice sounded muted, as though he spoke from very far away. "I must confess that I am a stranger here. It was mere happenstance that brought me here. I had not intended to make my bed in this place." A bit of his silky smile returned. "But if my presence would bring a smile to such a pretty maiden, I would happily say 'yes'. Still..."
Derek's eyes darkened a bit, and when he stretched out a hand from the folds of his cloak to reach for the wall, his form seemed to take a slightly mist-like quality, a living shadow. His fingers brushed the wall, then continued on through the stone as if it were not but empty air. "I fear my presence is...unnatural. I am just a shadow of a life, the ashes left behind from the fire of existance that had burned to the dirt years ago." He retracted his hand from the wall and he once again appeared solid, thought not whole. "I fear that it might prove to be...unpleasant, for some."
A pause, then he turned back to face them again, to face Roseline. Just seeing her seemed to make him remember himself.
"I'm terribly sorry," he then went on to say, even going as far as to sweep into an exaggerated apologetic bow. His clever smile may not have been visible, but it carried strong in his tone. "Such talk isn't appropriate amidst such warm, stunning smiles." Righting himself, he added with just a hint of wry helplessness, "Honestly, I know not how to answer."

Nital's eyes follow Derek as he moves but not quite, giving away that there is something not right about her. Really, she isn't seeing them in a traditional sense. She can't see like they do. She senses them, forming rough images of them within her mind. "Well, you may be my guest then." She smiles rather brightly at Derek and Rosey. She really does engoy when the other woman is happy and laughing. "People don't often take very well to my company either. They seem to not like how I see them and yet don't." Her bright purple eyes may not look blind, but she really does see the world in an entirely different way. She glances towards Lorenden who is curled up on the floor in a patch of sunlight, obviously enjoying the warmth. "Though King Lorenden seems to find my frailties quite amusing for some reason that is beyond me, yet he seemed appalled when I insisted that I can not go outside."
