As some of you know I've been as dead as Kirk Cobain around here and just saw the change in the market place. My question is how has it effected you guys? Are sales down because of it, are you having to do the math to make it even out? Honestly I don't know what they're trying to do with it, if that 2 percent went to something like a Gaian retirement fund it would make sense but that's just me.

I don't give much thought to it. The Marketplace is not my main source of gold. In fact, I applaud it.
The admins say this is a countermeasure against inflation, which I think could work in the long run.
People just need the patience to see how it works out.
Gah, I'm annoyed by all the anti-tax sentiments and the mostly greedy arguments used to back it up.
Jeez, people, it's just pixellated gold, not a matter of life and death. rolleyes

I used to work the marketplace in a minor way by myself with Pink Giftboxes a long time ago, but I've quit that a while back. o_o And... I did manage to make a great amount of gold doing this. With that being said, this 2% tax makes overall sense, and also for the best of Gaia's economy as covered in the thread explaining the reasonings for this. I support this because.. I know how much gold one person can get from manipulating the marketplace the way I did. XD That, and how so much gold keeps flowing into the economy, it needs this small gold drain IMO.

The new guy that they hired to check out the economy doesn't seem like he knows what he's talking about. He says one thing and then says something completely different.

I know what you mean Locke, I used to power fish like a mad man (and because I was so good at it I actually caught the attention of a few private guilds for sellers ninja ) Can someone link me to this thread and new economy person thingy? I'm lost to the things that have changed around here. lol
