...I know all of the Organization members names are anagrams of their "original" names with an added "x", but... what about Axel?
His name... is so short, that here are the only possibilities of what his name could be. [ If his name follows that rule. ] ::
Ael
Ale
Ela
Eal
Lae
Lea
...Do any these sound RIGHT to you?
...Or have I not seen something?! D:
If any of you have heard different, please tell me. crying
Or, tell me which one you sounds most... suitable.

Alex.
It never mentions in game that an X needs to be ADDED to a name.
Simply that names of the Organization share an X as a mark of brotherhood.
Hence, Alex.
That's my theory, and I adhere to it like ... um... duct tape to.... to duct tape.

I'm also with the Alex/Axel theory. I mean, what would they have called him? Axxel? Xaxel? Lexax? Until proven otherwise, I'm going to believe his original name was Alex. Besides, it sounds better biggrin
