As I see the fading vision,
Of the one I truly love,
the shadows are eating away,
through my flesh,to my bone.
and as i scream in pain, and try to break free,
these shackles confine me.

yeah little emo poem...Wingged one broke up with me >.> and over the phone, quite rudely if i might say so myself.
but yeah my school has terry prachett books! I was wondering if they were in anyspecific order...i checked out the Color of Magic...I havent gotten very far as to the fact i`m finishing up to the rize of Nazi germany.

but yeah...I called brittney.we badmouthed him for a while and shared some good laughs.but yeah he called me on his cell to break up... *rolls eyes* and who else here agrees that is rude?

but yeah...anyway the main pourpose of this thread is for feedback formy little emo poem and to find out if terry prachett books are to be read in order.or you can grab any ole book and start reading.*cause i know of a lot o terry prachett fans. mainly members of this guild xD

edit: added first two lines to poem advice from vesper.* Yeah the things i think up at five AM usually are in poetry format xDD

Pratchett is a literary GOD. Any way, breaking up over the phone is totally bad form. Oh well. Color of Magic is actually a good book to start with since it's the first one he wrote. I don't think much of Rincewind as a charactor compared to his later ones, but it's a good book to ease yourself into his style. Some books you don't want to read before others but for the most part you can read in any old way. For instance don't read Night Watch (one of my favorates) until you've read other City Watch books.

So why did you have me read that one first? just asking... and breaking up over the phone is not only incredibly rude but also is asking for an assasignation... *looks around cospiratoraly* so got any contracts for me? as for the poem its rather good, I like that you used the shadows in two ways, to bind and to torture. but a second verse with lighter imagery would make an effective contrast to the hashness of the poem... sort of make it stand out more, or perhaps make a first verse with light imagery and leave us with this to put more emphasis on it.

ummmm thanks?

but yeah fo a contract.... i donno.... he looked upset enough the day after *like he was about to cry upset* Wich scared me.... but sure go ahead and assainate him....I`ll give you a bunch of flowers xDD *those things mass produce!*

I started you reading Night Watch because at the time I didn't really think about it and it's my favorite. I think on the other hand that you can sympathize with the characters far better if you've read all the other books first.
(Hogfather movie was amazingly good and new Moist book comes out soon. Yay.)

i don`t mean to sound offensive to any fans but the color of magic seemed to be fairly dull... i diddn`t even get like 90 pages in it...i couldn`t get abosorbed! crying

If i find carpe jugulum i`ll prolly read that one,it sounds amusing....but for some reason to me the color of maic seemed too....slow moving.... >.> <.< but yeah.....vampires who are going against classic rules, sounds amusing ^_^.
but for now i`m gonna read this 1,200 page book i borrowed from the school library...The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich:a history of Nazi Germany.

now HOW am i able to get into THAT book but not the color of magic o.O i do not understand... sweatdrop crying

You guys talk about Terry Pratchett so much, I'm curious. I'll have to see what I can find next time I go to the library.

Color of Magic isn't one of his best books I think I already said that. Rincewind is my least favorite of his characters for the very reason that he is rather dull. It's all "I'm so scared, I'm going to run away" give me a break. Vimes on the other hand is awesome.

If you look at that sentence out of context it's really funny.
