Hey, guys! I hope no one is upset with me for being gone so long. sweatdrop I've decided to try and sumarize what I've been up to recentely. Which is going to be hard since I've been up to so much.
When I left the Internet altogether in July, I was still preparing for Anja's arrival. (Incase anyone doesn't know or forgot, Anja is the German exchange student who came over to my place this summer.) I was also preoccupied with Color Guard, Habitat for Humanity, and packing. Anyway, once Anja arrived, time seamed to fly faster than the jet plane that brought her here. We drove with her down the U.S.A through tons of states until we reached Florida. The car ride was a blast despite my two younger brother's arguments. Anja and I talked and talked for hours about everything. Her English is absolutely amazing as she's taken eight years of it. I dearly hope my Spanish (and perhaps my nonexistent grasp on Chinese) will become as good someday.
Florida:
We visited my stepdad's parents then headed to Siesta Keys, were I came into contact with the clearest water I had ever seen outside of a swimming pool. Anja and I stole my brother's snorkels and goggles and spent a lot of time underwater looking at fish. We took Anja to a Tampa Bay Devil Rays baseball game and tried to explain the sport to her. We took her to Ybor City. We went shopping. Anja and I both love to shop. Oh yeah... we got the 7th Harry Potter book and swam in the Gulf during a thunderstorm too. That was a blast.
Afterwards, we drove to Orlando. We spent 1 day in Ebcot and 1 day at Magic Kingdom in Disney World. It was a lot of fun. In Epcot, my parents decided we should eat lunch in the Germany section of Ebcot. It was highly amusing. There was a German Folk band and a lot of people dressed in traditional German outfits. Anja informed us that the food didn't taste right (I agreed with her, the meat was not nearly as good as the stuff I ate in Germany) and that everything there was pretty much Bavarian (Anja is from Saxony). We ended up splitting up with hour parents for most of our time in the parks. Lisa, Anja, and I managed to do almost everything there was to do in the parks, flirt with a cute guy dressed up like Peter Pan, and make fun of the constant usage of the words "dream" and "wish".
Oh yeah, and one night in the hotel we were out in the hot tub surrounded by teenage and college-aged guys until around 11:30 or so my stepdad came down and told us to get out and come upstairs cause my mom said so. Which was embarrassing. We got upstairs and I was all like, “Mom! That wasn’t fair!” and she was all like, “It’s getting really late and I was worried.” Then my stepdad was all, “They’re just mad that you had my pull them out of a hot tub full of teenage guys. The expression on my mother’s face was one of horror, I assure you.
Back in Ohio:
When we got back to Ohio, band camp started. Thus, every day I arrived at school everyday at eight in the morning, worked my a** off dancing around in 100 degree weather until five, then went home and tried to spend as much time with Anja as possible before she had to go. When she finally had to leave, we were both hugging each other and crying. It was so sad!
After band camp was over, I had so much stuff I still had to do it wasn’t even funny. Guard was still going on three hours a day and I had to finish reading five novels and journaling on them in A.P. English, landscape my aunt’s garden for some much-needed cash, throw a party for my friends like I promised, and do some more stuff for Habitat.
School:
Once school started, things got even more insane. Ah… the beginning of senior year and I don’t even have time to contemplate if my prom date from last spring who is now in my Spanish class and sitting diagonally to me still likes me. If he ever did. I barely noticed that I hadn’t been to my dad’s house in over a month. Then my mom got an email from my dad threatening legal action if I didn’t get more time with him. My mind kinda snapped at that point, since I was already under so much pressure from everything else and I emailed an angry letter back to my dad. I’m seventeen for god’s sake! I choose where I want to say and he even agreed to that notion. So that was a big, ugly ordeal.
I also somehow managed between guard and school to practice driving like crazy every night (the maneuverability part). Thankfully, it paid off, and now I have my license! I just got it last week. I was so busy driving everywhere this past weekend, that I neglected my allergies that were getting worse and worse. And now I have bronchitis and my color guard coach (who’s being a complete b*****d, by the way) may not let me perform in my last first competition this Saturday because I missed practice yesterday due to the fact that… I dunno… I COULD BARELY BREATH!
And that’s been my life these past months. Meh… I have such a bad headache right now. But I went to school anyway today because if I miss school I have to miss practice tonight at 6 and if I miss practice I don’t perform.
