I don't know how many of you are subscribed to Drop Dead magazine, but in one of the issues, there was an article about bone bleaching. The girl writing the article said to mix one part bleach with two parts water, put the bones in so they are completely submerged, and it should take less than an hour to bleach.
Well, it's been three days and my bones haven't bleached. They're still sitting in a bowl in my kitchen. I even tried making it half bleach and half water, so that it's more bleach, but nothing seems to be working. What makes no sense is that I've bleached bones in the past and they did bleach, it just took a full day.
I'm using regular liquid Clorox bleach... am I doing something wrong?

Creator God _PsychoPathic-Tend3ncies_ I hate to sound like an idiot... but what is bone bleaching? sweatdrop Exactly what it sounds like. So... what bones do you bleach? An animal's? I get the mental picture of somebody slicing open their arm, and pouring bleach in it. Somehow, I doubt that's the case. razz

Generally its for style, take some small chicken bones, clean em and whiten em so they aren't nasty as hell and are white, then do something constructive with them. Lots of people make voodoo-ish necklaces out of them or link them via thread and sew it into the shoulder of a jacket or something.

eek Oh wow, I've never even heard of this. I need to look for pictures later; that sounds like something I might want to try, maybe. Haha.

I've only seen them in pictures of the Dropdead Festival. I would do it, but I'm not incredibly into fashion, I basically dress like my avi (minus the hat and the flower pin). I wear a kilt occasionally, but usually I just wear a black coat, boot-cut jeans, some docs, and my sunglasses wherever I go. I do have a "deathrock" jacket but its just a black jacket I patched up with band names and some cool halloween cloth on one arm which always gets stuck on the safety pins. I can't wear it to school because all of the safety pins are a "potential weapon" and I can't wear bands names around like Christian Death, Alien Sex Fiend, and Sex Gang Children apparently.
