The sun shone bright and the air was crisp. Summer here in the lands was coming to an end, in due time of course. Kailasa had been away from home for awhile now. Ever since joining the Graveyard pack, she had not really left. She had tried her best to get to know some of the fellow hyenas, but many seemed very hesitant towards newcomers. However, one had struck her deep.
Tibuka.
He was such a sweet hyena. Even though he somehow managed to still act tough and cool, his sweet nature could easily be seen when Kai was around him. It made her giggle to see him act so cute, but she only guessed that she naturally did that to others.
However, out here in the rogue lands, the place of the birth, nothing like that existed. She wasn't really sure why she was out here. She guessed that she just needed to get away for a bit. Maybe, on the way, she could meet her mother and foster father again. Yea... That'd be nice. She surely did miss them.

Kuumia awoke with a start, dreams of the past shook her awake. The bright sun stung her amber eyes as she opened them. There were few cloud in the sky to hide the sun from veiw. She huffed, steatching her tierd muscles. Pop sounds came from her joints making her face twist. She always hated the awkward sound. She was in a better mood than the few days before. She had met a stranger and taken him home. Hurt a halfbreed then got bored. She had met so many creatures in one day, and something told her it wouldn't be much different today. With any luck she would stay in her mellow mood long enough to have a conversation without an argument.

The blades of savanna grass had started to turn brown, but some green ones from spring still lingered on. Kai's gray and white pelt stood out in a bright fashion, making any potential prey run as they saw her. Much to their unknowingness though, she wasn't looking for prey. She had just decided to take a stroll, as she needed some fresh air, away from the Graveyard.
"Hmmm. Where to go, where to go..", she pondered, looking around with her silver eyes.

Kuumia blended into the grasses well, looking like a bit of fresh grass. HEr amber eyes lit up as she saw something out of place. What do you know? She was right about seeing someone new. This one was lucky. Kuumia wasn't planning on trying to attack whatever it was like she had been doing to all the others. With a grin on her lime face she wandered towards the hyena. She had never seen one before, only heard of them.
She slowly paced towards it, staying low to the ground just in case it wasn't planning on being friendly. She waited, stalking it but staying a back. She wasn't going to be the one to speak or get close first. That wasn't how she worked

Yet another animal ran by her. A hare this time. Why were all these animals afraid? Had she ever shown any sign of wanting to chase after them? No. Not at all. Oh well. She figured they ran just to be safe.
As soon as the hare had run away though, a strange smell struck her nose. This smell was new, and very unlike anything she had smelled before. What was that? Her silver eyes looked around, trying to find what it was. It had to of been something close by. The wind wasn't that strong right now.
"Hello? Is there someone out there..?"

"I'm here." A calm voice drifted over the grasses, not being blown away or broken by wind. Kuumia always did like calm days, not windy days. They were pleasent. She decided thats where her mood had come frim. It matched the weather, leaving her cool and collected.
Thoughts were still racing through her head as she sat up, her small lime body stretched as far as it would stretch. Being small had advantages, but sometimes it just made it so she was harder to see.
"Why is there a lone hyena out by itself? Don't you normally stay near the graveyard?" Kuumia questioned, knowing that she sounded bored.

Kai looked over and saw a very green animal. She matched the blades of grass rather well and blended right in. However, while Kai stared at her, it came to her mind that she wasn't sure what animal this other was. It was obviously a female, by the sound of it's voice, but the body style was something new to her.
"Oh. Well, yes, actually. I just thought I'd visit the homelands for awhile" She smiled delicately. "If I may ask, what kind of animal are you?"

Did the awkward Hyena really ask what she was? Kuumia had at least taken notice to learn of what was around here. Unless it was another odd hybrid. THat had made her head spin and was nothing fun to deal with. Her mind clouded with a short memory flash before she shook out of it. It was a good day. It needed to stay that way, even if it ment hiding everything she really was.
"Cheetah. But I'm not as big as most." She short skinny female attempted a warm, heartfelt smile but only suceeded in a pained looking grin. She was not the type to be, or even look, friendly. That wasn't how she grew up. And she knew that she would die bitter as she was now.
"Homelands?" SHe asked as sweetly as she could force out, "You were born here?"

A cheetah? Well, she had certainly never heard of, or even seen, that type of animal before. She had heard of leopards, but never seen one. Of course, she had both heard of and seen lions, as they seemed to be the big cat that ruled these lands. Still, a cheetah? This was definitely interesting.
"Wow. I've never heard of a cheetah before, much less seen one. It's nice to finally meet one. I guess I'll have to look out for you in the future, eh?" It was meant to be a joke, but she couldn't help feeling like she may of upset the female in front of her. Tensions just seemed to be highly strung.
"And yes, I was. My two sisters and I were all born here. My mother and father still live here as well, somewhere. After seeing a few things and getting something small to eat, I'm going to go and find them. It'll be nice to see them again." She then took a pause, looking away for a brief moment, and then looking back. "What about you? Were you born here?"

Kuumia couldn't hold a laugh back. Born here? Of course she was.... Wasn't she? She couldn't remember much of her childhood. But she had to of been born somewhere. Right? Ever since she was little she had traveled around. Never bothering to call anyplace home until she had placed her paws into her perfectly pedicured den.
Her face was in shock. "Never... Heard of one?" To her it seemed impossible. She always thought that her breed was imporant. That everyone knew of them. It was so... different....
