((OOC: Wasn't sure if we could turn in the homework without technically finishing the roleplay for class, but since my other partner in my group of three hasn't posted in a while and I'm not sure if she will by tomorrow, I figured I should turn it in just in case. ^^))

Finite Incantatem stops all operating effects of spells. It is best when practicing said spell in a classroom to isolate oneself so as not to effect other spells being worked. However, in a battle or duel situation, Finite Incantatem can prove very useful when stopping all operating spells in the area. Of the three spells included in Lesson 1, this particular spell happens to be my favorite because it would be of the most use to me in situations outside the classroom. As individuals with younger siblings know, magic tends to run rampant in a household as said younger sibling learns to control their magic. Though my sister is old enough to control her magic most of the time, her temper often causes unintentional spells to be cast (usually directed at myself). With the use of Finite Incantatem, I can effectively stop the effects of any spell she unintentionally casts on me, thereby keeping myself hex free and keeping my little sister out of trouble.

Accio, Alohomora or Wingardium Leviosa

Wingardium Leviosa was the most challenging of the three spells we went over in class, so challenging that I did not achieve it in class and required extra practice as homework. However, once I got the hang of it this spell quickly became my favorite of what we have learned so far. There is something very empowering about being able to lift a feather (or a pen) off a table without having to touch it and then move it around in the air. I had a lot of fun dropping things on the heads of other housemates in the common room with this spell. The spell itself takes quite a bit of focus, not only must you wave your wand correctly, but annunciation is key and focus while keeping control of the item you are levitating is crucial. This spell is not something that can be performed without careful thought and consideration, or extreme amounts of practice.
