Personality: Anima is very quiet and child-minded. She's very trusting, and speaks softly, rather than loudly. It's the way she's always been. She's also very dependent on her brother and is rarely seen out of his company. The only time she's not with him is when he goes out to hunt or is otherwise occupied...She's an avid singer, the memory of her mother's songs and lullabies always fresh in her mind. Her memories from before her brother's turning are the most lucid of all her memories...After that, everything is fuzzy and hard for her to remember. She's very devoted to the Lord and Lady and is a big lover of rituals.
History: Anima and Animus are from a very broken family. Born to a very patriarchal family, Animus was groomed to be the next head of the family, while Anima's only human contact was her mother, father, and brother. For the first five years of their life, everything was fine and their mother kept their father's temper under control. But their mother was sick, and died not long after their fifth birthday. After that...'Father' Cross became very violent. Though he never hit his children, he yelled and degraded, though Anima received the brunt of it, rather than Animus. Animus was still Father Cross' precious heir. But Animus loved his sister, so protected her, despite the violent tendancies he learned from his father, and his own inherent sadistic nature. What is it meant by Anima's only human contact? Anima could see ghosts of all sorts, as well as the occasional 'totem' animal -though she didn't know what they were at the time- and was content talking and singing with those lost and guiding souls. But after their tenth birthday...they couldn't take it anymore. Anima was almost always crying, and Animus was growing tired of being expected to run a family he hated. So the twins ran away. Unfortunately, on their way to Cyrus City, they encountered a vampire. Neither child can remember the vampire's name, they barely even saw her face, but the end result was 'simple': Animus ended up a vampire at the age of ten, while Anima was doomed to never become an adult mentally and emotionally. When they finally got to Cyrus City, they were taken in by Nyoko Shirohana, and that's where they've been since. Animus revels in being a vampire, while Anima has found a place among the followers of the Lord and Lady, taking care of the temple and often acting as the Maiden in rituals.
