The topic speaks for itself, plus what was your friends and familys reaction when they started to notice ur new fashion choice?

I started at Hot Topic.
But that was too expensive. So not I shop at department stores like Penny's or Macy's (only during sales) and buy stuff from thrift stores or online, then modify them.

My grandma thought it was ******** awesome from the beginning.
My parents, however, thought I was possessed and into drugs at first.

I've always been a thrift shopper, and seriously, you do get nice clothing at thrift shops, like Goodwill, and places like that...Hot Topic is to expensive personally, I wont pay more then 20$ for pants and shirts, and they go beyond that so forget that...

Plus I stopped by one of the near by thrift shops today actually. For $9.50 I got me a pair of Tripp NY pants, chains and all in purple stitching. That is a steal, xd , at Hot Topic they would have coasted me almost 45$ probably...and my friend payed $56 for her new Tripp pants...crazy...o.O...

Yeah, I shop at Hot Topic or K-Mart. My grandma and aunt buy my clothes at Hot Topic, so it's not expensive for me. I usually get Tripp pants. They're my favorite. ^^.
Uhh...My mom sat me down and asked me if I was going Satanic. I got kinda insulted by that, but after telling her that I turned Goth cause it made me happy, she accepted it...mostly. She still calls me disturbed, and I have limitations on what I can do/wear. Such as: no tattoos till you're out of the house, no tons of piercings. No chains hanging from your pants, and no white face pain or black makeup. She takes the fun away. v.v
My grandma though it was "Hip" and "Groovy." Haha...
And my aunt stared at me a while before saying the same thing as my grandma.

I don't have enough money to go to Hot Topic all the time, but I do shop there. I like Claires and Forever 21 too. Other than that, I really just go anywhere and buy what I like.

Ugh. I go through hell with my family for it. Especially my younger cousins, whenever they see me they'll be like "Why are you dressed like a white person?" or something like that. It pisses me off sooo bad.
And my mom hates it too. It's so dumb, I get really good grades in school, and I'm a well-behaved kid, and yet all she's worried about is how I'm dressed. She even said once that sometimes she's ashamed to take me out with her because of how I dress. Like, what the hell?
I used to argue with her about it, but it's so petty and stupid to argue about that I just stay quiet while she rants. stare I'm so glad I have my friends and my music to make me feel better about it at least.

Ha, I made my transition slowly, so they're okay with it as long as I'm not wearing anything sleazy.
I actually make a lot of my accessories, and get most of my clothes at kmart, target, and even ((rarely)) Limited Too. Then I'll take 'em home and modify the s**t out of them on my sewing machine. ^^
I only go to Hot Topic for pants, since I haven't been able to find them anywhere else.

my friends were cool about it, but the other people around me kept giving me dirty looks.

I first started out at Hot Topic, but over the years m tastes evolved, and I begin bein more discerning about quality. Now I shop mainly at Goodwill, the local gothic clothing shop, and sometimes the clerance racks at normal shops. I also make clothing when I have the time.

My parents have never cared about my apperance. So long as certain body parts are covered, and so long as I'm not spending too much money on clothing, my parents don't care. My mother actually takes me to the local gothic clothing store every now and then, and buys me clothing. My parents care more about what's between my ears than what's on my body.

As for the reaction of my family, my grandma hated the all black thing initally, and my uncle worried that I was 'going to start wearing a trenchcoat and killing people'. Over time they both realized that nothing bad was happening to me.

Much of my family likes my style of dress. Mind you, I was out of contact with most of my family during my 'baby bat' phase, and only saw them again when I had grown out of that a bit.

Shopping..... usually, I just get black clothes from Wal-Mart or the thrift store and then modify them myself. Today I went crazy with chain and safety pins...... now my black dress pants are less dress-y, and my favorite shirt has these franken-stitches over the heart. I'm proud of myself. I plan to do the same thing with some other clothes later on. 3nodding
Family reactions...... my mom and siblings are fine with it. My dad seems to have a somewhat-unspoken distaste for my style..... he refers to my clothes as 'that black s**t'. stare I've also noticed small children seem to keep their distance from me and old people stare at me in the store. I typically stare back, which makes them look away real fast to pretend they weren't looking at me. Pretty funny, I think.

My parents got me dressing like this. ^^
They were both punks, when I was like 8 I was already dressing slightly differently, by the time I was 13 I was already quite punky...now i'm 15 i'm more gothic.

They LOVED how I took after them in clothing and music. ^^

Well, in germany we don't have hot topic, but many smaler shops with realy good prices. My favorite is a shop called Noctemwear, but we usually call the shop by it's owner. So it's Aunt Clemens for us ^^

My parents weren't realy shocked, since i wear decent clothing when not going out. And when going out my father is always thrilled. Well, he was a hippie, so what would you expect ^^''

My mother didn't care, my father's a f*****t, and my once-uber Christian sister hated me for a while.

There wasn't transition; in the middle of seventh grade, I just met new people and started wearing black.

-shrugs-

I get black jeans from Walmart, some band tees from Hot Topic, and s**t on sale from their site as well. I got a gothic skirt, velvet at the bottom with black lace, at the former store as well.

My clothing is pretty eclectic.
