God created the world the world in 6 days and rested on 7th, this is something we all know. We also know that one of God's commandments is to Honor the Sabbath day and keep it holy.
Most people assume that since we go to church on Sunday, that that is the Sabbath day. But Sunday is the beginning of the week, not the end. So the Sabbath day is actually Saturday, thus the Seventh Day Adventists who go to church on Saturday.
So, why exactly do we go to church on Sunday? I heard once from my mother that it's because Sunday was the day that Jesus was resurrected. Has anyone else heard this? Or is there another reason that Sunday is the day that Christians go to church?

Hmm...I'm not really sure why people go to church on Sunday.

Do Jews respect the Sabbath on Saturday then? I'm not sure of that.

Some people say that Jesus broke the Sabbath day law all the time, here are examples that people give about Jesus breaking the law (at least in the Pharisees eyes).

This link talks about 'How' to keep the Sabbath though. I am not really sure if Christians are supposed to respect a Sabbath day or not though. The Ten Commandments were originally meant for the Jews and Jesus basically restated a majority of them in the Beatitudes (I think he only left out the Sabbath and having only one God laws).

I think maybe Christians changed it to Sunday to respect the day Jesus was resurrected like you said, instead of respecting the day God rested on after creating the Earth.

I don't really know though. I'm just drawing some of my own conclusions really. xD

If someone could point me to the verse I'm thinking of, it'd be awesome. Somewhere, it talks about Jesus coming to fulfill the law and then in another place, it says something about fulfilling the Sabbath. I think that Jesus's fulfillment of the Sabbath caused people to change it's day (and I've also heard that bit about him rising on a Sunday . . . I think).

By the way, Jews do worship on Saturday as opposed to Sunday.

As far as I am informed, Sabbath day is from Friday evening to saturday evening...

Well, I do not know, why our "Sabbath" is on sunday, but I would guess the choice has heathen origins like some of the names of the days... Thursday -> Thor, Friday -> Freya to name the obvious which were kept.

At one point, and I don't remember where, I'll have to look it up later, but at one point the calender was arranged in such a way that Sunday was the seventh day of the week, with Monday starting it up again. I would guess this played a large part in its being labeled the "Sabbath". However, I don't think it matters so much whether the Sabbath day is Saturday or Sunday, as long as there is a day in which you lay aside the rest of your work and devote it to worship.
