Yeah yeah, this thread topic is so generic, but we need more than two discussion threads, and I'm curious about your musical tastes.
At the moment I'm listening to a band I had never heard of until yesterday- Panda Bear. They sing a lot like the Beach Boys, only with kind of an indie-chill sound. Otherwise, I listen to... a lot of stuff! Eighties pop, nineties alternative, electronica, chill, classical, foreign rap (mostly French), foreign music in general... yep.
What's on your radio/cd player/iPod?

Lately, I've been religiously listening to anything Muse, gearing up for their concert next Monday. (YAY!) Also, Garbage's Greatest Hits album, with all the awesome remixes! I've been a Garbage nut since they first started back in the 90's, so this album is heaven to me. 4laugh

Awesome! I'm not as big a Garbage fan as you are, but I've got a few of their songs. I do love Muse, though. *is jealous*

I've eclectic tastes: sixties folk-rock, punk, & eighties pop. Pretty much - as long as it is happy or silly - I play it.
Toy Dolls! Beatles! Loving Spoonfuls, you get it.
Oh. And classical while I am trying to study or work.
You?

When I'm listening to CDs, MP3s, or other digitally-stored musical media on my work or home PCs, I use the free Last.FM plugin/player to record my music history to my Last.FM account page. ( Click to see what I listen to! biggrin ) I can't recommend the site highly enough; I think it's awesome sauce. smile Since Last.FM doesn't record streaming music, such as "net radio stations", I'll list some of my favorites from that medium: Soma FMSky FMDigitally ImportedOC Remix Radio (which streams exclusively one of my favorite genres, arranged video game music, from the Overclocked Remix Project) Frequence3 - Pop Radio from France! Monkey Radio - Self-described as "Grooving. Sexy. Beats."

I've been using Pandora, which is pretty much net radio, but it selects songs for you based on what you've listened to before and given a 'thumbs up' rating.

I LOVE to listen to John Denver - especially when I am worried about stuff. I used that CD like every day when the war first broke out. I think it's because it reminds me of happy, safe life in the 70s.

I just remember my Mom saying that she and my Dad saw him in concert and that he had the most beautiful voice that she had ever heard. I like the way his voice sounds.

Ooh, yeah, Last.FM's downloadable player has personalized and auto-discovery-mode streams, too. smile I've played around with Pandora, and I really like the idea it sprung from, where music is analyzed like and placed into all sorts of genome-like categories like "predominantly minor chord progressions" and whatnot.

the Monkees heart , the Doors, Led Zeppelin, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Depeche Mode, INXS, the Yardbirds, Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones, the November Group
but I also love Rob Zombie, Nine Inch Nails, the Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method (+ too many to list)

Man, this is always a hassle for me but I love talking about it. XD In general, I love punk, metal, rockabilly, and really most types of rock. I love dance, new wave electronic, ethnic music, korean and british rap, early jazz divas, and much more. But I'd say rock is my most listened to general genre. Favorite bands... Right now I love Diablo Swing Orchestra (avant garde metal) but my mainstay favorites for the past few years are Metronome, Shinjuku Gewalt, and Mamono (all Japanese, but electronic punk, militaristic electronic, and horror punk metal respectively). I also love the Stray Cats and Ella Fitzgerald when I am feeling a more classic/retro vibe. I also use last.fm and recommend it. It's a pretty nifty site. http://www.last.fm/user/jarvi/
