History: I was born a normal boy, doing normal boy things. I went to school, where I met my future wife Julie O’Connor. I headed for college and she followed me wherever I went. I majored in Chemistry and Biology, with a minor in Genetic Sciences at Yale. That is how I found out about the new idea for “super soldiers”. I had overheard one of my classmates discussing his theory to one of his professors, and from what I heard it sounded feasible.
So as time went on, my wife and I settled down in a quiet village on the island of Diego Garcia, we I had a son, Nathaniel, and a daughter, Jessica. I loved them so much. But one day I was called back to the United States to aid in the development of this “Super Soldier” serum. At that point I hadn’t thought anything of it, so I took my family back to the states, and I got to work. The money was great and the benefits even greater, but I lost a lot of time with my family.
1997: We worked for years on that serum, we would test underground so that we wouldn’t disturb the big heads in congress about “morality” and human testing. Many of the first tests failed in horrible fashions. The first test seemed to do nothing to the subject, until a few weeks later. He went completely mad and started to claw at the walls and windows. Then he started to claw off his own flesh with a bizarre grin on his face. The second test seemed to be a dud as well, until we saw it’s latent reactions: The subject, to plainly put it, exploded. We went through about forty different test subjects before we, well we thought, nailed it. The subject’s name was Jason Harris. His reactions were almost immediate, his strength doubled, his speed tripled, and his agility was that of a practiced Olympic gymnast. The only side effect that we saw was partial insanity, which was good enough for the heads to approve. So we set up another controlled environment on a distant island. We put about 500 volunteers on the island, and introduced the serum. The results were amazing at first, then things went horribly wrong. We hadn’t coded the serum to stop the transformation, and it took a turn for the worst, some were taking on the characteristics of the local wolf population. I remember one in particular, his name was David Herreraz, he was bitten by a rabid vampire bat, and taken to the infirmary. The net morning the slaughter started, so we thought. The nurses had bites on their necks, and the patient had escaped. We concluded that it would just get worse, so we abandoned our tests on the island and went back to examine what went wrong.
It took a couple of years, but somehow the “infection” spread. The subjects had gotten off the island somehow. We immediately began working towards a cure, or at least a vaccine to ward off the effects of the bites, but to no avail. The plague consumed the United States, Mexico, Canada, and South America.
2007: We were moved to bunkers, in an attempt to avoid the infected, but they somehow got in with us. It seemed as though they had gained control and evolved to suit their needs, the Lycanthropes, changed back to humans, and reverted at will. The Vampirics strayed from the sun and hid among the population at night, feeding in clubs, and off the homeless. That’s when it happened. I was tasked to inject myself with our makeshift vaccine to keep myself safe while I worked, but we didn’t make a vaccine at all. I had injected myself, unknowingly, with a vampire pheromone. After a long day of looking at genetic code, and mixing chemicals, I went back to my family. On the way back I was jumped. I managed to fight off my attacker, but not before he had bitten my neck…
The world went into a spiral of confusion, and chaos.
2012: things seem to have calmed down, and I tried to live with my curse, getting my sustenance from donations from the blood bank, but that eventually stopped working, my thirst for the hunt grew inside me, like a rage I needed to release. I did unleash my thirst, and at first, I hated my self for doing it. But as my thirst grew, so did the thrill of the hunt. I took great pleasure in hearing the screams and pleas of my victims, and the amusing gurgle they made after the bite.
It’s been over 200 years since then. My family abandoned me, my co-workers shunned me, so I was destined to live on my own. Until I met my recent wife, also a vampire, Victoria Ammenos. We decided to create our own family, I chose to change my name, and that is how the infamous Ammenos Clan began, with the unity of Darrius and Victoria Ammenos.
