Ich bin nicht gut....

This is an opinionated rundown of every (major) console I've run into, some recommended games for each, and a summary to close the deal. Apologies if any information is off. I'm only human. Mostly.

By all means, post a review about any system you like here, ones of done, and definitely ones I haven't, because the world isn't comprised of just my opinions.
Even though it should be.

Please do NOT quote this post.

Let's start with,

The NES (Left) and SNES (Right)

Ah, yes. For those not in the know, these would be the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

Classic. Hard to find, but worth every penny. Almost every true gamer has one or more in their closet, under their bed, hell, still next to their TV.

The classic Legend of Zelda, Metroid Prime, Kirby and many, MANY, more got started here, including the famous Mario Bros.

Also where the Final Fantasy series had a couple of hits.

I strongly recommend these systems if you do not already own them.
I've run into them at lawn/garage sales but you'd have more luck on eBay.

Great memories.

The Nintendo 64

The 64, love it. Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Body Harvest, Super Mario 64, Goldeneye 007 and Turok just to name a few of the great titles.

This is the system that helped set the standard for future gaming, namely Super Mario 64 which set the stage for future 3D platformers.

Even Goldeneye 007 with it's amazing multiplayer.
Comes with a great variety of all sorts of games.

I recommend it.

The Playstation 1

Everybody's addiction in the 90's. Amazing graphics for it's time, and a slew of awesome titles to boot. Many great RPGs, Action, Shooter, Fighting, generally all types of games are here.

Final Fantasy 7-9 and more, Syphon Filter, Tekken, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Gran Tourismo, Suikoden, Silent Hill, Resident Evil and hundreds more where that came from. And lots, and lots of RPGs. A lot.

Can also play CDs.

The Playstation 2

Same greatness if not more of the PS1. Many an amazing game has graced the PS2, and from the time it was launched to the time of it's "death", it has put up a hard fight with it's competition.

Tons of great titles, online play, ability to run DVDs and backwards compatibility.

The Gamecube

Yep. Nintendo's Gamecube may have not been the best, exactly, but it IS Nintendo. Titles like Super Mario Sunshine, Legend of Zelda Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime series, Resident Evil 4, and many more. Great system for all ages.

The XBox

The big green doorstop. Just kidding. The hardcore game's system! Absolutely amazing online play with Xbox Live, and many games to go with it. Shooters, Racers, Action/Adventure, and Sports games make up most of the list, but it has many others.

Halo, too. Yeah. Gotta love ol' Halo.

The Playstation 3

Eh. Sony, how could you? I think it's way too much cash for what it's giving. Mediocre games, with the exception of a handful (Lair comes to mind). Right now, I can't even look at it. I say wait.

The Wii

Great family AND gamer system. The virtual console for everyone is actually really cool and original. Wii Sports, Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, Resident Evil 4, Metroid, and other great games keep it fun.

It's the system you can play with your Granny.

The Xbox 360

The best right now, I think. Great games, reasonable price, still the great online we all love. Halo, Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Saint's Row, I think it's the best true gamer's console you can buy at the moment.

The PSP, Playstation Portable

I have it. I honestly regret it.
If you're not up to fully utilizing ALL of it's capabilities, it isn't for you.
There are little to no decent games for it, I can't even get my online to really work, Don't even try to do anything fancy with it unless you want to risk bricking the dang thing, and as for everything else, well, there are better peripherals out there.

Wait for the new version to come out, and we'll have a look.

~~~~~
Well, that's all for now.
Once again, I apologize of my information is off, but I try.
I hope this helps at all, though I'm sure I just sound like a broken record.
Add your console reviews as well!
Xbox 360 is the best out there so far, the PS3 is alot more powerfull but to be honest, if im going to buy one of these i want the graphics to be much better....and right now it looks just like the 360...just worse online play, higher price and not much games.
In your opinion. For future reference, if you're going to say something is better or the best, please say "in your opinion", =).
The graphics on the X360, I believe, are the same as the Xbox without a high def TV. Is that true? I wouldn't know. My brother has an Xbox 360, but I don't, and I rarely go to his house, so I don't play any games on the system.
To answer your question, a 360 graaphisc with no HD is sightly better than that of an Xbox. But with HD, it's a ton better...
i think the 360 is better than the PS3 personally but the Wii beats all
i think the ps2 is a good system and all same for the x-box, now i aint played any of the games for x-box 360 or ps3 nor do i have them but i dont think that a console can have any better graphics than the next in line but they can improve them alot to make them look better in deffintion then the rest. now my oppinion is that but i think that the ps 3 is to expensive and all and the x-box 360 just looks the same as the x-box but then again i havent played them so i cant dis the games on them nor the systems.
The NES and SNES
Great systems in my view. They may not have been the first but they were the basis for all modern gaming today. I have both in my room. I haven't played them in a long time though. they as well had my favorite form of cleaning, just one or two good blows on the cartridges or systems, and the dust was gone and they were good to go. They are a good thing to have especially since the FC Twin doesn't exactly work with every game.
The Nintendo 64
I didn't ever exactly own one of these, but they were a great thing to play. With such games as Super Smash Bros. Pokemon Stadium, Mario Party, and Perfect Dark, I enjoyed the fact you could play with four people with this system.
I wonder what would have happened if Sony didn't get all sneaky sneaky with nintendo. Would we have something as great as this system but only with disks?
Good choice of system to play.
The Playstation 1
Ah yes, the result of one sneaky sneaky company betraying Nintendo. Good choice on their part ;]
all three of me anf my brothers HAD to have our own. It's graphics were amazing and almost everyone 'gasmed for it. It had much of my favorite games, such as Ehrgeiz, Breath of Fire 3, and more.
If mine still worked, and I knew where it was, and PS2 didn't play it's games, I"d be all over it today.
The Playstation 2
From Bulky to thin, it's such a great system. Backwards compatibility, DVD play,hot damn graphics and the ability to hold up on it's own against the 360 and the wii. A must have.
The Gamecube
Not sure what to say about the game cube, it's like an advanced 64, had many good games, didn't get as much praise as it should have. It was pretty damn rad in my book.
The XBox
The system run by a radioactive kirby and had it's own preset name for each one. It started a good thing for hardcore gamers, it gets hated on by many loyal sony fans, but it can hold it's own. It was pretty late in the race of the systems, but it filled the shoes against Sony and Nintendo. Man, what would I do without your halo-y goodness?
The Playstation 3
wow, Sony, it's HUGE, PRICY, and has NOT ENOUGH good games. No backward compatibility, no rumble, why? You disappointed me big time. Sure you had the price drop, but why? So you could sell another version with more hard drive or what ever for the same ol giant price. Sony makes me sad :[
The Wii
Hot damn, it took my 4 days to hunt one down D: I loved it. Melvin is one of my best friends. And it appeals to everyone. I even had like 5 adults playing it along with a bunch of children. It is ggreat for any one and every one. Nintendo made a great accomplishment with this.
The Xbox 360
Gree-ate system. It stepped up the hardcore gaming. Many wonderful games. It has gone up with its earlier realese in the console war. It's downside? The fatal Red Ring. Woe is thee X-box 360. Plus it gets over heated rea easy. Good thing Microsoft came up with solutions, you can cure the red ring by sending it back and getting it fixed, and an intercooler thing for the heat.
The PSP, Playstation Portable
I haven't got one yet, but I will as soon as the slimmer ones come out. I hope it's good for me.
(For the unlisted ones)
Dream cast, you are a collectible, and that's just about it. You kinda just died.
genesis and saturn, nice things to have as well, very fun.
DS, I love to have you, but recently, you just my really expensive clock D:
