Any one who knew me nack in January knew that i was super excited to buy Delain debut album Lucidity. Once it was released however i was less than thrilled to find that it was selling for $30. I put it in the back of my mind and son forgot about them completely. That was until France. I found Luciditu for 20 euros ( which is more than 30 US dollars but who cares) and i bought it.
All i can say about Delain is that It's typical and simple. Sounds like Within Temptation but a little better. After all The main songwriter is a Westerholt (he used to be in Within temptation). But sometimes simplicity is best. I think Delain is great for those who really enjoy gothic metal. I enjoyed the cd for what it is, simple but ctachy gothic metal/rock.

I saw them 2 times.
The first time was a waste of my money.
And the second time was kinda free, but i only saw one song and then went to bed.
Their vocalist was looked really bored like she didn't even want to be in a band.
The only thing i liked were the guitar players, but one of them just left the band.

Well i don't think she was that involved with the album that may have been a contributing factor.
It seems everyone who is Dutch hates them. Pleasures of living in the US i guess.

They have 2+ gig a week in the Netherlands and all of their songs are great hits.
But you have to know that the album uses all kinds of good players like marco from Nightwish.
Live they are totally different 3nodding

I understand that, which is why if i was ever creating a album i would never do such a thing and play live or just never do such a thing. It was a stupid, stupid, move on his part.

But thats why they are more populair in the US.
They don't play live there, people only know them from the album.
I have to agree, i liked the album too in the begining, otherwise i didn't go to them live xd

I don't know about Popularity in the US, i can honestly say i have never heard them talked about by any american (other than myself-I'm supar ultra kvt kul lyk that. rolleyes ) online or in real life.
