O.k. so The Sunday Mirror reported August 26th that a Harry Potter musical was in the works and hoping on bringing the musical to London's West End next year.

And to add to the rumor I found this website with parodies of different musicals and making them Harry Potter related.

I'm not sure about the rest of you guys, but I personally loved the idea of a Harry Potter musical. I've been hoping for one for the past year and been making a slight parody based off The Producers. It's really not that good. All I have written is Springtime for Voldemort.

Anyways discuss your thoughts on a Harry Potter musical, the parodies, and which character you would love to see singing and dancing.

I think a HP musical would be great! I heart musicals! Yes, Voldy should have his own theme song and dance, or something. That'd be awesome!

Sorry, but I really just can't envision Harry Potter as a musical. Maybe it'd be decent but I worry about it coming off as very cheesy.

In some ways, i'm quite excited to see a harry potter musical, being a fan of musicals and all, but on the other hand i am compeletely mortified. I think it is an awesome idea, it would just be hard to write a script for it and not make it really corny. I mean, just the idea of Voldemort and the Death Eaters singing and dancing makes me twitch. it's scary to be honest. I can see the others, but not the evil characters.

Yes, i prody of the Producers would be awesome, and Springtime for Voldemort would make me laugh. "Don't be stupid, be a smarty, come and join the torture party!!" Ok, that was really lame, but still... LOL!

the only way i can see a harry potter musical is if it's something like Phantom of the Opera..you know how powerful the dude's voice would sound..i can imagine something like that for Voldermort and more happier, 'HSM' characters for the golden trio and their friends..especially in the earlier books.

Phantom is a great musical. ((is going to see it on broadway for the second time next month!!!)) and yeah, that kind of a show would probably be best, since it is dark and all, but i bet they end up doing some Disney-like show... i'm i the only person who hyperventilates when they picture Voldemort singing about how much he wants to kill harry??? rofl -dies- and Harry bursting into song about quiditch or "let's go kill the basilisk!" or someting like that... lol... wow, i suddenly think this musical thing is a bad bad idea... they're going to mutilate the books...

Ok, I think that musicals are ok, but Harry Potter as a musical?
I don't think so. Voldy singing about killing Harry?
Harry singing about Quidditch?

Just like Lady Vanessa said, they are going to mutilate the books.
Unless they made a parady of Harry Potter and made it funny.

I heart musicials, but I just can't picture Harry Potter as a musicial. I don't know if it's going to work out...yet again on Broadway they did Legally Blind. Who knows...maybe it would be good. I would just have to wait and see.
