Dir en grey
From left to right Shinya (drums), Die (guitar), Toshiya(bass), Kaoru(Guitar), Kyo(voice).
They used to be a Visual Kei band but aren't anymore, feeling that it is just about the music and not about their looks. They were formed in 1997 and are still active to this current day. They were only in Japan until 2005, and are now spreading their to the US and to Europe with success. Dir en grey was preceded by the independent band La:Sadie's which included four of Dir en grey's later members before it disbanded. They recruited Toshiya as bass, who has been with them since he joined.
"Dir en grey" was chosen because it "sounded right," and is comprised of words from several languages, so that people would not be able to attach a specific meaning to it other than that the band's name itself

My favourite song by them is Yokan from the Gauze album, what's yours?

And whats wrong with that? They don't even dress like that anymore, and Kyo wasn't all scary. Their drummer Shinya cross-dressed.

Good choices. You should really try Child Prey, Ain't Afraid to Die, and Red...[em] is a good one too.
Those are my most favourite songs wink
