Kiyon
Kiyon lies next to Ishkar, on the point of the crescent. The island has been divided for nearly a decade now, and harsh battles have filled the years of division. Only the kings know why the war was started in the first place, though vicious rumors spread through the villagers of their ideas on how and why. Kiyon trades much with the other islands and has a grand fleet of trading ships, though only the kings and nobles hold wealth, the rest of the people live in poverty.
The island of Kiyon is largely flat, with mountains around the edge and the shore. The two cities are situated high in the mountains, because the large valley in the middle frequently floods and separates the island into two.
Bashar is situated on the side of a hill, just barely high enough above sea level so as not to flood any part of the city during the flood-times. The buildings are old and worn in the lower levels, but gradually get grander and newer though the upper levels. Most of the peasantry lives in the lower levels, while the king and nobility live in the upper levels. A red banner is flown in the upper levels, to symbolize the blood of the soldiers shed in the battles with Quillan.
Quillan is situated high on a hill, with the castle and public buildings in the top and center, and the city spread out underneath. The buildings of Quillan are whitewashed, and the city is fortified halfway up the mountain by a large, thick stone wall. The peasants live nearest the wall, while the king and nobility live nearest the top of the hill. A blue banner is flown throughout the city and on the wall, to symbolize the innocence of Quillan from the harsh fighting with Bashar.
