Ishkar
Ishkar is the third largest island and lies above Malawar. The island is under a monarchy, with it’s all-powerful dark king living in the fortress near the capitol city of Karr. The people of Ishkar are engaged in a strange war with Jibullin, circulating lies about the source of the war to gain popularity and support from the people. All the cities are connected by an old road in disrepair. The Ishkarians only use black magic, and only hateful, spiteful races live in Ishkar.
Ishkar is a mountainous island, the high and lows of the island ranging from around 5 feet above sea level to 60 feet above sea level. The land is not fertile for farming, and there is very little wealth to be found anywhere.
The capitol, Karr, is a large city with a maze-like structure, the buildings having no real pattern or order to them. The city is fortified, though not very well, and chaos is evident at every turn. Most of the buildings are old and needing repair, except for the noble’s houses and the King’s fortress.
Turkem is situated in a valley and is a very small town, the villagers very poor. The buildings are old and in disrepair, and the dirt road is at most a worn path through the dead and decaying trees.
Furn is perhaps the best organized city, situated on the top of a hill, it has a system in which if the city is besieged, most of the town can still be held for up to three months. The buildings are made of bricks and the wall that surrounds the city is made of thick stone.
Nartook is a mysterious city, and the location of the temple. It is the only city on the west side of the island, and is therefore a very lonely one, but also a very self-sufficient one. Nartook has the least connection with the capitol and the king, and some of the villagers have thought about making it a separate nation from Ishkar. The city is a maze of old, stone buildings, with the temple in the middle. The people of Nartook are very superstitious, and all who can use magic are brought up in the temple from birth.
