Having a generally warmer climate and richer soils compared to the mountains, the valleys are oasis of fertility. Most of them are connected to eachother, with the water carving the paths down towards the sea and rivers, but a few are completely isolated by the high slopes and lacking any natural roads
Actually some are isolated for so long, the plants and animals found here don't exists anywhere else. There have been reports but the handful of explores that managed to find and return from those places, of creatures so strange that are thought to have belonged to an ancient era
But it's nearly impossible to confirm those claims, since it's terribly hard to find those valleys and even more to return from them, with or without those creatures
