The best inn in all Loghedge, famed by the quality of its food, beds, stables and overall service. It's among the oldest establishments in the city and very well located in the main road, close to the market square and very easy to locate with its large winged slit eye sign hanging high above

The building is made of fine wood and cut stone. The inn's main hall, a large place populated by tables, chairs and a large, well provided bar, is decorated with all sorts of pelts, a comfy environment only warmed up more by the huge fireplace and the sweet smell of good wine impregnated in the wood panneling
Upstairs the rooms have soft aired beds, decoreated with hanging tapestries or more pelts. Many have a private copper bathtub with a bell cord to call for more hot water or warm towels
The stables are roomy and well provided. Fresh straw, cool water and many stable boys ready to attend the horses well being

The guards took their time leading the strangers from the Baron's castle to the Inn, allowing them to get a feel for the surroundings and also so that they would know which way to go if they needed to get back to the castle if needed. But eventually they got to the inn and were brought inside. The guards went over to the innkeeper and talked to the owner for a moment, gathering a collection of keys before going back and handing them out to the newest guests. "here you are, two of you to a room, take care of yourselves and have a good evening"

Well, it wasn't a long trip down to the inn. Alex made his way into the inn, counting the others in his group, making sure they all were there. He looked at the others, as he walked with him.

"So, we should probably sort out who's rooming with who?" He folded his arms as he looked to the others. The pilot sat down at one of the large tables, since it would probably be needed for them to figure out who was going to be staying in what room.

He leaned back in the chair, and stretched out a bit. "So?", he asked, as he looked to the others.

Cecil plopped into the seat next to Alex and pointed over to the firefighter woman. He stayed silent, not like he had a choice in the matter, but nonetheless. The mute squeezed the bridge of his nose as if he were fighting a headache, and looked to the ceiling. He sighed again and took out the History book, he opened up to a random page and flipped through the Shakespherian vocabulary and blurred handwriting it was in. Cecil shut the book with a disgusted look on his face. Figures. The only good source of information around here, and they go out of the way to make it unreadable. Cecil wasn't in the mood to bother with the book, it's not like this thing was real anyway, he'll grab some food, catch some Zs, and be on his way tomorow.

Cecil took out a notebook and wrote to Alex, These people sure know how to ******** with us, huh?

A grin.

Blythe Dautry

Blythe of course came with the group she was hungry and tired and wanting nothing more then to wake up, probably in a hospital room, from a concussion. Surely that's all this was, a stroke, maybe she fell and hit her head, or something along those lines. This was all just some great hallucination. Still she couldn't shake the ever so real sensation of exhaustion and hunger. She slid into her chair and gratefully accepted her key.

"I believe it would only be proper to board ourselves with our own genders. Alex would it be too much trouble if young Jamie roomed with you, if you are fully against it I will have him in my room, but I do not believe he is at the proper age to stop believing that girls have..."cooties" so to speak," Blythe inputted. She was not going to room with a man, gentleman or not it was simply not done with a lady of her stature. Goodness she had never even let a man see her before! Suddenly standing up she had a slight look of dismay and realization on her face. "Oh, I have forgotten myself Blythe Dautry, Head Mistress of the Luary Private School for boys in Glouchester, England."

She offered her hand to those around the table. Her hand was cold and firm, it had the slight leathery feel of an older person.

Karin shrugged. "I'm used to being the only woman in the firehouse. No real preference here," now she turned her attention to Blythe, "but if that's what you want, it's fine." She paused in thought. "In fact, that's probably best. This place seems to be stuck in the middle ages, literally. And if we are stuck here, scandalizing the locals with our outlandish ways should probably be kept to a minimum."

"England, huh? If I remember right, fly-boy here was in the Philippines, and I was in the US. If this is some giant hoax/reality TV show, well then, it's a well funded one." She was deliberately not thinking more on that subject. If they had the ability and the money to coordinate such an opperation, then the only real choice was to play the game and hope whoever was watching got bored. Fast.

"Anyways, I'm Karin Makarios, firefighter." Her lips twisted into a wry grin as she added, "Formerly of Holly Springs, North Carolina in the US of A."

Rick Katan

Several tables away, Rick sat, locks of his hair covering one eye as the other, half-lidded, surveyed the others, one of whom he would likely end up bunking with. Tan elbows were propped up on the table, dexterous fingers clasped and covering the lower half of his face, and half of his nose as he listened to their conversation with slight interest.

For one, he was glad that he wasn't alone in this situation. After all, by observing the triumphs and mistakes of the others, he could potentially avoid any silly blunders, and make the proper decision in a certain situation.

As for what they were talking about, like Karin, he had no preference. Chances were that people already knew who they wanted to be with in a room, and judging from all the people in the room, that would leave one left. That person would be stuck with him, whether they liked it or not. He would simply wait until that person had been found, and approach him or her. Hopefully, he thought, that person wouldn't have the wrong impression of him right off the bat.

Jamie stared down at his now mud encrusted socks though his knees as he sat down between some of the others. Mom would be so angry if she saw this. Reality still hadn’t sunk in for him, mainly because he was still denying everything.

Jamie remained silent while the grown ups discussed who’d stay with who, letting adults take care of things was something all too used to. He just sort of nodded as Blythe spoke.

Alex smirked as he looked at the note pad of Cecil, nodding. "Yeah, either that, or they're tian di wu yohn*. Take your pick." He looked over to Blythe and her comments about letting Jamie room with him. "Huh, oh sure sure, that'll be fine."

The pilot leaned back some, and nodded. "Nice to meet you all. I'm Alex Barrett, and yes, I was in the Philippines, but I grew up in Cali. And I doubt this is a reality TV show. I mean, this place is out of like a history book, a very messed up one, but a history book none the less."

He thought a bit, and then shrugged, "Anyways, we might as well try to blend in some while we're here. Hell, I've already been robbed... twice since I got here, just because of my appearance. Some folks seem to think I'm royalty or something messed up like that." Alex looked towards the door then back, "But if that Baron guy thinks I'm going to give up my coat though, he's sadly mistaken... but anyways, that can wait till tomorrow."

"So, lets eat!", he said, in a change of gears, mostly because food would help clear the mind if nothing else.

Cecil gave Alex a thumbs up and a smile. He took out his "Conversation" Marker: A heavy duty sharpie, and wrote down in bold letters, Cecil Milner III, aspiring writer, former actor, mute, New York, NY. He made a mock bow to everyone and nodded. He listened to everyone introduce themselves, and he came to the conclusion is that either everyone around him was crazy, or they were telling the truth. He prefered to think that everyone told the truth, and if that was the case, well, whatever this scheme was, the people behind it sure pulled all the stops.

He shrugged at the mention of room placements, it really didn't matter to him, seeing that he was getting out of here tomorow. Cecil nodded in agreement with Alex, and held up a fork and knife.

Dinner was interesting to say the least, under seasoned and ruffly cooked, two-tined forks and barely sharp knives, yet it was food. Honest to goodness good food, hot and welcome to her empty stomach, if it had been tough as steel she probably would have tried to eat it. She made sure Jamie ate everything including his vegetables, after all no one in her school was aloud to waste food and certainly not now. Not while her was a growing child.

"Make sure you eat your carrots now Jamie, it will help you see better," She bent down to tell him. Turning towards the group she attempted to make conversation. "If I may ask what ideas do all of you have as to what you might try to gain employment in? I myself might inquire as to the any position in my chosen field of education."

Alex ate a bit from his plate, enjoying the taste of well cooked food. He'd been out eating fish over a campfire for a few days too many, and he was much happier to have some real food in him.

The pilot looked to Cecil and nods, "A mute? Ah, that explains it. Well, that explains the note pad. If you need a spare pen, I have one I use to write in my flight log. Just an FYI." He then ate a piece of food that was stuck to the end of his fork, before looking to Blythe.

"Job? Well, I know this guy who's a rat catcher. Maybe I could help him." The pilot sighed. "You would think being certified to fly a twin engine prop seaplane would actually give me some job opportunities, but around here, not so much." He grumbled a bit and chewed on some more food. "Maybe I could do some work carrying stuff around. Its not like it would be the first time for me to have to haul stuff from point A to B. Used to have to load up my PBY myself, on some occasions."

Poor Alex. He was remembering his beloved plane once more. What a wingnut. "What about you?", he inquired to the others.

Cecil knifed his food hungerily, he still kept his table manners, but the hunger from not eating anything from all day didn't bother stop him from taking huge bites of his meal.

He frowned at the mention of occupations. Well, writing wasn't going to be any use around here. He mentally slapped himself, of course he didn't need to worry about that, all of this was a complete sham, and Cecil knew it. At least, he thought he knew it. He wrote to Alex,

How long have you been around here? You know this is all completely acted right? The highway's probably somewhere around here.

Cecil was full. He layed back and streched out his arms, yeah, this is going to make such a cool story when he got back... Though, he didn't know how exactly he was going to get a ride home. Bah, details, he'll figure it out in the morning, hitchhiking couldn't be that bad.

Alex ate a bit more, finishing up some of his meal. He pushed his empty plate aside and then looked over to the note Cecil had written. "Huh. An Act?" The pilot frowned a bit, wondering if Cecil knew something he hadn't. Something wasn't right with this place, he knew that, but could it be a sham?

"I've been here a few weeks. I spent two good days out in those woods. If there was a highway nearby, I'm pretty sure I'd have noticed it by now." He tapped his fork against the dish, and shook his head. "Things are just too... different."

He shrugged a bit. "No sense in worrying about it now. Right? I'm just glad I don't have to sleep outside tonight."

For her first real meal in quite a while, Karin didn't seem to have much of an appetite, playing with her food as much as she was eating it. Thoughts of home kept creeping in and dulling any enjoyment the food had brought.

Speaking up for the first time in a while, she commented, "I think I have to agree with Alex here. At night, there's nothing. No lights. I mean, it's not exactly the mountainous highlands here, but if you look at the skyline, you should be able to see the light pollution if there were any cities nearby, right? But there's nothing. Even near the Amish country, there's telephone lines. Unless we're in some third world nation." She paused and shook her head. "I dunno, it's just all wrong."

She picked at her food a bit more, her headache returning once more. "I don't even want to think about employment. This place isn't what I'm used to. I like to work with my hands, and I doubt that's approved for the female populace."

As an afterthought, she added, "Maybe we could pool our coins and buy a house or something. Can't stay at the inn forever."
