Main Church

One of the largest buildings in Loghedge, the church serves not only as the house of God and brings guidance to its followers, but it also serves as hospital and courthouse
Because Loghedge is a capital of district, this church is in charge of surveing all the other churches withing that region. And because of that it has many people from the several branches working there, especially in the magic department

Chapels

There are a couple of them in and outside of the city, to help branching the services of the church and make it easier for people to reach them
They usually only have a handful or clerigs working there and the mages are the more generalistic type, trained to deal with the most common situations. A more specialised service would require help from the main church

Alexander Barrett opened up the door into the church, and gazed into the darker interior of the building. He walked in a few steps, letting his attention pass over the insides of the massive structure. The pilot left his coat on, as he looked, as he pondered many questions to himself.

In order to get those questions answered but first he'd have to find someone who worked there at the church. Obviously a priest would be a good choice, but any monk might be just as helpful. Or thats what he hoped. He wasn't exactly sure how things worked here, but he needed answers, answers about colors.

And so the pilot turned to head towards whoever looked like a likely candidate for directing him to the proper person. He was a man with a mission, one to get back home.

Father Matthias stood before the podium, the book of god before him. He quietly was reading over some pages, researching for a future sermon. He soon heard the creaking of the old oak door of the church and saw the stranger wondering in. From the dim light, it was hard to make out the person who entered. But he warmly smiled,

"Greetings traveler, how may we help you?"

Alex straightened up just a bit, realizing whoever the person he'd just met looked like he had a bit of a position to him. He nodded just a bit as he walked over to the priest. "Actually, I was told that someone here might be able to help me. I'm not from around here and well, I'm trying to get back home."

The pilot thought about how to handle this. He didn't want to come off as a crazy loon any more than he did with Bones. Bones, right, he should mention him. "Someone named Bones said I should come here and see if I could get some help. Seems he felt the church would be a good choice to help me." That was the truth, without all the really weird details, but it was the truth none the less.

Matthias looked over the young stranger and smiled. “So it has begun.” He said quietly to himself. “Yes my son, you can find help here. Boone is a good man, and you should always listen to him, though take what he says with a grain of salt.” He started down from the podium. His white gowns billowed as he moved toward the man.

He nodded a bit. "He seemed decent enough to me." His hand reached up to brush some of the hair back from his goggles. The goggles were mainly on his head to keep the hair out of his eyes, but every now and then, some of it would get a bit too far forward.

"I woke up in the forest, a few days ago, and just made my way here with a bit of help. Problem is, I fell through a sky of color before I fell to the ground out in that forest. I'm not sure if it was real or a dream, but I know I'm not from anywhere around these parts, and Bones sounded pretty sure the folks here might have a clue what happened, and maybe how I get home."

Alexander's hand ran his hand over his neck a bit, tugging the fluffy collar of his leather coat open just a bit more. It wasn't the most comfortable coat to wear when the weather was warm, but looking the part of a pilot was just as important to him as being one. At least he thought so.

The old priest looked over the man when he finally stood before him, such odd clothes. “I see, colors? Are you sure this was not just the out come of a night of sin?” He watched the young man carefully. "Though drinking and fun in moderation is not bad, one should always be aware of their health.” He watched the young man carefully “Come sit over here and let us discuss your predicament.”

If the pilot had been leaning on something, he probably would have dramatically fallen to one side while clinging desperately to something to hold himself up. Too bad Alex was standing up, and just sort of buckled over at the waist as he was accused of being a drunkard. "What??? No no no. I'm not some sort of boozing wino."

Alex straightened himself up, before sitting himself down. "Listen, I was just sitting in my airplane... errr... flying air ship and the next thing I know I've got some weird lights all around me and me falling in that forest. Someone else had a similiar experience, but from someplace else, no where close to where I was."

Did he come off as being a drunk? Oh man, he hoped not. Being a drunk and flying an aircraft was a bad combo, and he honestly didn't want to scare off business if that was what folks thought.

The Priest listened, not fully understanding what the Youngman said. “Air….plane? Air Ship? Woo hoo you truly have been speaking to old Boone.” He chuckled “I must say that man can weave a tale or two. As for your problem with drinking, any good strong god loving man can always find his way home through the creator and his children. As for finding your way home, best thing to do is try to remember where you were the night prior before you started your little adventure with the bottle.”

Ok, at least Alex didn't have any chance of falling, as he was once again accused of being a daydreaming drunkard. The wayward pilot rested his head in his hands and sighed to himself. It wasn't the priest's fault, he mentally reminded himself he had no clue what was being discussed. Although, getting plastered might be more mentally invigorating if this conversation kept going in the direction it was heading. Alas, the life of a lost pilot.

"Err... 'Father', I'm not a drunk. I'm not sure what you think of me or Bones, but he said I should ask to see a mage or something like that. Don't think I'm boo-tai jung-tzahng-duh* or a drunk because I'm not. Here, I can prove it..."

With that, he reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a small flight log he kept with him, to document his travels. He flipped to the back and remoted a small Polaroid photo from the book, a picture of himself next to his PBY back home. "See, this is me, and thats my play...errr flying air ship. Don't mind the fact its on the water in this picture though." He pointed at himself and the plane and hoped maybe the priest would take him serious. Not likely but it was a hopeful wish.

Matthias looked at the photo with great interest. He had never seen something like this before, a painting so small, on such strange parchment and the image so life like.

“I must say you have quite a talent here, and an imagination to add. You say that thing behind you is a..a flying machine, an Air..plane? Well my son, I be care in telling or show this kind of thing to people around town or other members of the cloth. But God surly has blessed you with such talent and imagination. You many give poor Boone a run for his money.” He chuckled as he handed the photo back. “But I seriously would be careful with your tail. These are troubled time we are walking into.” He looked off into the distance his eyes fixed on the stain glass image over the podium of an angelic being slaying some demonic beast. “I would be very careful.”

Alex slipped the photo back into flight log and slipped the book back into his inner coat pocket. It would be nice and safe there. Sadly, it seemed that even proof of his existance from someplace else wasn't proof enough to the clergy though.

The pilot looked from Matthias to the stain glass window he was staring off at, before turning his attention back to the priest and his problem. "Uh, sure, but it is true. Thats why I wanted to see someone about this whole issue with how I got here."

Alex's face turned to a slight frown. Partly from the mild headache he had, partly from the fact that he seemed to be making no headway at all. He was a long way from home, and everywhere he went, either folks thought him crazy, or a story teller, or both. He'd really hoped Bones would be right about the church being able to help him, but obviously that was looking less and less likely.

"Why would I have to be careful though?", he inquires. They wouldn't toss someone in jail, would they?

Matthias looked back at Alex, “The Church can not fully help you.” He said in a very low tone that only Alex could hear. “Be very careful who you tell these tales to.” His face was not as cheerful as before, it was now very grim. He soon got up and started to head back to his podium and book, “My son, the gods will protect you, but you have to make an effort to protect yourself. Drinking and dreaming up such elaborate stories can only cause more problems for you. Though I do hope we can speak again” He turned back and met eyes with Alex when he said these last words. There was no doubt, he meant what he said.

The pilot raised an eyebrow to the priest. There was something he wasn't telling the pilot, but why not just say it? Something was wrong, that much was clear. Was the priest afraid?

Alex nodded some. "Sure, you're right." He stood up slowly, before looking back to the priest. "I'll keep that in mind, Father." And with that, he did a bit of a bow before he turns to head for the door.

That didn't turn out the way he'd expected, but maybe when the priest was ready, he would tell him more about what was going on. Maybe. Maybe not. Nothing he could do about it till then.
