I'm sick of folks sending me e-petitions to my inbox!

Folks, sending a hundred e-mails about how justice should be done against the woman who microwaved her baby and then sending the "signatures" of those who respond back to the sender will not work. The woman will go through the proper legal process, and no amount of support for one outcome or the other will change that.

Sending a zillion e-mails about how one thing or another is just outrageous will not work. Firstly, the list of signatures may not even make it to the right people who really can make a difference. Secondly, how would anyone know that it wasn't the same person signing the petition multiple times? While actual written petitions require your actual signature, internet petitions only require your name, not your unique writing style. Thirdly, petitions only serve to show public opinion: this many people want this done. The powers that be don't have to change what they're doing just because this many people are upset with them.

It's just another one of those "I'm Special" activities where folks think they're making a difference. If you want to make a difference, get off your a** and do something! Signing a blasted e-petition is not going to help matters.

So please, Grandmother, comrades, PLEASE stop it with the damned devices of feel-good delusions.

Oh yeah, and no matter how many forwards you send, the e-mail company is not going to send money to some sad family (like that woman with four kids, "blessed with three beautiful, healthy children").

I like the bulletin system on myspace for epetitions. Simply because I don't -have- to look at them, but if I want to... they can be amusing. :3

But I do dislike e-petitions. I mean, logically, you'd think someone would be intelligent enough to realize they don't mean s**t?
