Dark, dismal, lonely place with cold air. Prisoners and newly attained gladiators are kept here.

Screams sound in the dark. Moans echo along the halls. Fear fills the air with it's wretched stench. Few torches are burning in their sconces, leaving deep and dark shadows. The air and stone that makes up this dreadful place are cold and chilled. Sometimes, if one is quiet enough, the sound of rats might even be heard. The rats don't live long lives though. Prisoners sick of bread and water see to that. The newly attained gladiators, though, are usually well fed and treated quite well. They get proper food and clothing. They even usually get blankets to keep them warm... Usually.

Lorenden coils around himself in his cell, the barred door still open. It's cold and damp. Not at all a place he would usually choose to be. The cold slows his body and bodily functions. It makes him sleepy. He settles down, coiling in upon himself slightly to try to retain some of his warmth. His deep blue eyes slowly drift closed. Thoughts of the woman who could have very well killed him run through his mind.

Someone is coming... Get up... Wake up... He is slow to react to his own thoughts. He's grown cold down here in his damp cell. His deep blue eyes slowly blink open though. A wide yawn escapes him as his vision slowly comes into focus.

The cold stone of the dungeons that make up most of the lower levels of the castle are not a home that the woman would like to make hers. She is grateful that her own room is on a higher level, and thus a much greater temperature than the one that occupies the drafty cells. She shivers lightly, wishing she had decided to wear an attire less revealing than the simple pair of pants she wore with a spaghetti strapped tube top. The soft soles of her shoes made almost silent noises in the dungeons, but the echo carried far. She found the cell swiftly, though her arms had become wrapped around her bare midriff in an attempt to warm her, though it was failing due to her lack of body temperature.

Those deep blue eyes blink up at the naga woman. Lorenden is still mostly coiled in upon himself. Being like this has allowed him to retain some heat. Still, the cold has definitely made him a bit sluggish. His head slowly rises, eyes watching her.

Christy narrows her eyes just lightly at the man, growing frustrated with staying in his presence, and the cold about her. "What? No greeting? Are you so unfamiliar with your ruined title that you not even bother raise a voice of greeting to a guest? Or are you simply such a pompous king that you think yourself above such manners?" She asked, making her voice as sharp and painful as she could, if her fangs couldn't pierce his skin then her words would.

What an irritating woman. In more ways than one. He lifts his humanoid torso out of the coils of his snake-like lower half. His arms remain at his sides. "I would greet you, but I know not your name. Besides, I only just woke up from the cold. I apologize for the slowness."

Christy smirks, a little pleased that the man at least responded to her inquiry. She didn't smile really as when she did it was twisted in the slightest by her own unusual charm. It was a little strange really how none had ever seen her smile like most women did, but then again, she wasn't any ordinary woman. "I am sure you have heard it before, but probably never made the connection with such a harsh name to such a pretty face. At least, that is what most do." Christy muttered as she stepped a bit into the room. She didn't wish to linger in his doorway even though it was his cell. "But you may call me Christy. That is what most do though I find it rather irritating." She said flatly.

Lorenden watches her for a moment. "I do not get company nor do many speak to me or near me." A small smile tugs at the corners of his mouth. "Since it irritates you, I shall not call you by that name. I will think of some other name to call you by."

Her gaze darkens a little at the king, but she doesn't strike out like she wished to. "My name is Christiane Sofie Gaëlle. Don't think you could find something that won't bother me, everything frustrates me in one form or another." She stated simply.

Lorenden shakes his head slightly. He uses his tail to guide her farther into the cell. He does have a small fire going. Hopefully it will help her more than it has him. "Christiane is not such a harsh name. I was going to suggest calling you Salistra. In my language it means a fierce female warrior." He pauses and looks her over. "Why have you come down here into the cold?"
PostPosted: Fri Dec 07, 2007 12:23 am

Salistra? She frowned lightly, but her smirk had vanished at the simple mention of what it meant. Why would he christen her with such a name when he hadn't even known her for long. It was odd to be given such a name by such a stranger, though he wasn't really a stranger to her now was he? She followed his beckoning tail, though she kept her distance enough so she wouldn't be seen as too eager to get warm. "My business for being here is my own. You needn't worry yourself over my intentions, your life is in no threat as of late. But that will change if I deem it necessary." Christy said darkly, her hands remaining around her stomach though the warmth of the fire was helping a bit.

A soft chuckle escapes him. "Salistra is indeed a good name for you. Very fitting really." He thinks upon taking his human form, but remains as he is. The light from the fire shines off his multi-colored scales. He remembers her touching the tiny, soft ones along his torso in her room. It brings an unexpected heat to him. "As you wish then. Your business here is your own."

Chrstiane fixes her gaze upon the dancing flames before her, not wishing to steady her sight with the man in front of her. His comment caught her off guard and due to that she could feel a warmth begin to rise within her cheeks. She recognizes it and glares darkly at the fire, her lips becoming a small frown. How dare he try and steal such a subtle blush from her cheeks. Did he think her a fool? Was he toying with her like she had done with others? She wouldn't play his little game. "You would do good not to repeat that word before others, I might be forced to remove your tongue. I won't have others think me weak for letting a prisoner call me what he will, even if he once was a king." Christy stated darkly, before remembering the task she was presented with by King Enkil. Yes, she would break him, if she wasn't broken first.

He slips up behind Christiane. Why does she take offense to all he does or says? It makes no sense. "Teach me then. Teach me what it is I am supposed to do to get out of this damned hole. How should I act? Should I be some pet like you?" He doesn't mean the words. Not really. He's just frustrated.
