Story Nightmares, myths, fairy tale creatures and legends, all just stories and dreams or what if they were something more. What if they were real? One little girl on her 10th birthday found out in the most tragic ways. Her family was killed before her eyes. She was lucky to escape the bullets that tried to shoot her down. One bullet managed to hit her arm causing it to bleed heavily. She never questioned why her parents decided to stay in her grandfather’s house that lived out in the middle of nowhere in the forest. She was just sitting around in her grandfather’s living room with her parents and the next thing she new, her father was dead as well as her mother. That morning and several mornings before she was missing her friends from school and wondered why her parents and she were staying in her grandfather’s old house for so long. But now those thoughts left her as she ran from fear of death and to survive.
She stumbled on the old stairs leading to the basement and fell through as they finally gave way. When she awoke she was in a dark from below even the cellar. She was in a very old room, before she could gather herself and figure out where she was and what the large metal thing she was sitting on. Her arm slipped in a hole and four needles in the shape of a scorpions tail stabbed into her captive wrist. When it finally let go, she could hear footsteps of the men that killed her family so she hide. Much blood and violence and death happened in that room, she hid not wanting to see more death as well as hiding for her life. The lack of blood and the smell of death caused her to faint. When she woke up she was in her room, no wounds on her body. Like it was all some sick dream.

Sitting up in bed stretching yawning softly she looked around finding herself in bed in her bedroom both shocked and surprised her. Samarith blinked as she looked around once more it must have been a dream nothing more then a nightmare. "Mom ... Dad... " she called out as she stood up slowly padding to the bedroom door not hearing a sound within the house. It was weird what happened to the creaking floorboards of the old house and why had her parents not come running to her calls. Instead she was greeted by more silence that was starting to frighten her. "Where is everyone " she whisphered softly padding back to bed sitting down on the edge of the bed staring out the window rubbing her eyes.
She shuddered deeply feeling chilly as the memories of the dream kept coming back to her frightening her greatly. "It was just a dream silly" she kept telling herself over and over trying to force herself to believe it to forget about it to let the dream fade into daylight if she could help it she never wanted to remember that awful dream.

A dark, deep, mysterious, seductive voice that struck fear in Sammy’s heart, spoke in her mind like it was speaking directly to her like a normal conversation between two people. “It’s not a dream little princess but more of a nightmare. For you see that everything is true. I however took pity on you little one, since you have freed me. I healed your wounds and made graves for your fallen brethren. Your grandfather’s home will seem normal, yet it will be empty, except for us. I also took the liberty of devouring your enemies.” said the male voice that seemed to have an animalistic nature to it as well. It was a voice that one would find haunting one’s nightmares; Sammy could feel the feeling of something watching her from the shadows, like a predator stalking its prey.

Samarith shuddered looking around standing up frantically padding around the house looking for evidence of what the voice said. Running outside she looked screaming a deep pained cry as she ran to the graves kneeling down in the dirt sobbing "Go away what do you want from me. Why allow me to live when all my loved ones are dead and I saw it happen" she wailed laying there crying or a while before she stood up now dirty from being in the dirt but she did not care as she went back inside. "Show yourself don't hide from me" she screamed grabbing a glass throwing it across the room angrily. She slid to the floor holding her knees rocking tears slipping down her cheeks

“As you wish little one.” The voice said in her mind as a large shadow started to take shape and from the shadows step out the most gorgeous man Sammy every seen. His hair was both black as night and red as fresh human blood. His hair reached down below his knees in length. His skin was pale and white, like a ghost taking on a solid form. His eyes were the most intriguing and yet terrifying. They were a dark red, like blood and un human cat like black slits filled the center of them, instead of normal human eyes. They glowed faintly in an unholy manner. Shadows seemed to surround him as he walked towards Sammy. An evil smirk bearing his large inhuman fangs appeared on his lips. “I will answer why I did not stab your heart, tear your flesh, feed from your virgin blood and take in your screams as I rape your innocent little body for my enjoyment. For that would be music to my ears. Oh I would have loved too kill you, but since I bound the blood oath I am not allowed to kill you little one. For your blood has resurrected me from my slumber, it has broken the seal on my prison. And set me free for that blood oath that we made, I must serve you until death takes its hold on your body and releases your soul.”
He spoke with such anger in his voice, which made fear fill Sammy as the man; the vampire who would haunt ones nightmares stared at her like a predator. So much hate was in his eyes and anger in his voice. The smirk remained to show his fangs. This was a creature who hated to be sealed, or controlled. One that was wild and deadly like a snake or a tiger.
He kneeled infront of her, his glowing red demon eyes never left her own, as they seemed to stare into her soul. “What is thy wish my master?”

Samarith cringed shrinking back from him as he showed himself "Your telling me the only reason you did not kill me is that my blood is what allowed you to be released. " she gasped hearing that he had to serve her until she was dead. "You may have to serve me but your not going to make it easy on ether of us are you " she whisphered looking him over fear apparent in her young eyes. "What is your name " she asked trying to curl up away from him but having no luck he seemed to be close no matter what she tried to do to keep away. Looking up the girl took in those eyes shivering wrapping her arms around herself feeling cold just from staring into those inhuman cat like eyes. Blinking she closed her eyes whimpering
She stood up staring into his eyes trembling tears springing to her eyes "You want to know my wish fine I will tell you. I wish that my family was not dead that they were here with me right now and none of this had happened. " she hissed out still very much in shock and disorentied. "I want things as they were . I wish this never happened" she sobbed growing dizzy she fell over right towards the other her legs un willing to support her.

The vampire looked at his young mistress as her tears fell, he could see and smell the fear on her, which made him smile a wicked smiled, however he stopped in his tracks when she asked for his name. “No one has really asked my name before. I have been called many things, like the darkness, a nightmare. So many names but I guess you can call me Darkside” He said with a wicked smile imaging all his victims dying and being tortured, there blood staining the ground and filling his mouth. “I can’t grant that wish, but I can take you to your last living relative, even though I despise the man. I cannot go against an order. So what is your command?” He said with a bow.

She hiccuped swallowing hard looking at him with a tear stained face. "Darkside take me to my last remaining family" she said firmly even though she had no idea who it was right now it was hard to place anyone other then the horrible scene that had played out before her eyes with her family that she was staying with. Thoughts of her mother came to mind making her smile slightly she was still very unsteady and she took hold of the vampire swaying on her feet "I don't know what family your talking about but take me to him " she said her voice not steady things spun in front of her darkness swirling "Ahhh help me" she cried before collapsing. Everything was to much for her she had broken down her skin was very pale and she was clammy to the touch.

Darkside Caught his young mistress in his arms. “So be it. Your wish will be granted.” He said his voice cold and unfeeling as he started to turn into the shadows. It felt like a silk blanket wrapped itself around Samarith. Covering her and protecting her body. The shadow’s covered her and they formed into a large human size Raven, eyes blood red.” It let out a loud cry before taking off into the air. It flew passed tall buildings and through them. Since Darkside was no longer solid and being wrapped around Samarith she wasn’t solid at the moment either, walls, trees, even humans they could pass through. Nothing stopped them. Yet Samarith couldn’t see anything or feel anything. She was securely wrapped in darkness, free to dream. Yet her dreams were not of her parent’s death, they were of nothing. Just a blank dream, because Darkside was feeding on her nightmare. So it left Sam to dream of nothingness.
Darkside landed in front of an old house, much older then Sam’s grandfather’s house, yet it was in good condition. An old man walked out of his house. He looked to be around 45, yet he was much older then that. His hair was white and his eyes were brown and full of knowledge. He leaned on his cane as he walked over to the large Crow. “So you escaped. One of them set you free, now show me who did it beast.” Darkside as the large crow gave one more cry of a crow and then slowly started to change back, the darkness slowly pulled off of Samarith. Making her feel cold and unprotected. As Sam started to wake up, the old man sighed and gave a faint smile to his great niece.
Darkside put Sam on her feet as she rubbed her eyes. “I must make a suggestion mistress. I need to get out of the sunlight. I have done what you wish, now order me away to get out of the light.” Darkside said with a hiss as the sun started to rise a bit of smoke came from his arm as he fleed to the shadows that were provided by the house.
The old man looked at Sam. “You better give him the order to rest and get out of the sun or he will be burnt to a crisp when the sun is fully in the sky.”

Sam enjoyed her rest until she felt the coldness as the darkness came off her. She looked up at first Darkside then to her great uncle. "I don't know you and things have changed so much that I don't understand" she said softly trying to understand. Hearing the hiss and seeing the smoke then hearing her great uncles voice she turned to the vampire "Darkside go and get some rest leave go home until the light is gone" she commanded him before turning to her great uncle. "Tell me about you why do I not know you" she asked very curious as to why he was not in her life because she did not remember ever seeing him. She yawned a little but went over to him on slightly shaky legs "I just witnessed my parents death and my grandfather and then find out I've released Darkside because of some blood oath. " she breathed out irritation in her voice "Then I find out that I do have family living but that as far as I can remember I've never even met you why" she asked pain evident in her voice and face as she spoke.

Darkside left without a word as he faded in the darkness of the shadows. He travelled under ground back to the coffin that was his prison for centuries. He looked at his prison and bed a hateful and tired look. Stepping into the coffin he closed the lid and closed his eyes and let himself fall asleep and dream. Sleep to replenish his powers and heal the wounds of the sun’s light.
Azrel looked upon his great niece. “I am sorry my dear child. Your parents and grandfather thought it would be the best to let you live a normal life and keep me away from you. So you could never learn your powers and why you we’re being hunted. You are a witch. But not the evil ones you see in movies or read in story books. You are a good witch. Your blood has the power to heal as well as the power of life. You see I am a warlock. I don’t hide who I am or reject my abilities. I believe if my brother was not so foolish. His child, your mother should have been taught about magic and in turn she should have chosen to teach you. But like her father she rejected magic as it was evil and they thought they would not be hunted. I feel your grief I really do and I am deeply sorry, I would have prevented their deaths if I have known where you all were. You see your grandfather, my brother was using magic. Only to keep me from finding where he was living and where his child and granddaughter was. Let’s go inside, you need to have something to calm your nerves.” The old man said leading Samarith inside.

Samarith looked up at him in shook as he spoke "Me a witch good or not your telling me that my parents and my grandfather hid from me who I am" she cried staring at him confusion in her voice pain seeping in as well. "Will you teach me so that nothing like this ever happens again to me or my futcher children" she asked biting her lip she really wanted to know what was happening and if she was a witch like he said then she wanted to know each and every power that she possessed and not be so ignorant to it any longer. She gave a small nod as he said that they should go inside so she could have something to calm her nerves it was true she did need something for that. Following him inside she looked around taking in everything around her and swallowing hard " I want to learn uncle teach me " she spoke lightly

“You will learn child, all in good time. Magic takes years to master. I will start you on the basics after a nice brunch. “He said with a charming smile as he led her to sit down in his living room. Many old things hung on walls and tables. He had no TV, just many books as far as the eye could see.
He smiled from the entrance to the kitchen. “If you would like to help me I can show you some interesting recipes. Learning to cook can help you with making potions easier.” He said as he turned his attention back to the kitchen leaving Samarith alone.

Samarith listened and watched when she saw the books she looked around at them for a few minutes before turning around and going into the kitchen. "I would love to help you and to learn interesting recipes. I love to learn and cook " she said softly looking at him with a very small smile on her lips. "I always wondered why we had to hide now I finally understand but why hide if we could have protected our selves" she inquired sadly She walked over watching what her great uncle did leaning on his counter a little bit her eyes wide open as she watched taking everything in.
