The Arena is owned by Lina Shiningblade. It was a gift to her from her father. Despite her owning the arena, she does not like slavery or making others fight for entertainment.

The smell of blood and sweat is heavy in the air. The sound of clashing metal resounds as swords come together or armored bodies slam into each other. The crowd cheers, enjoying the entertainment of people killing each other solely for their entertainment. Royals watch from special seating places where they have a better view. Cages hold the gladiators out of site until they are called upon to do battle. They are not sexist or racist here. There are both male and female gladiators from every race. Do you enjoy the shows?

Yinar leans against the outside of an empty cage. She is freely in the large, wide walkway. She isn't a gladiator, so they do not cage her like some animal. She smirks, finding the thought amusing. She would like to see them try to do such a thing. Their screams of pain would be like music to her ears. She is a fighter, a warrior, for the Shingblade family. The very family that owns this arena. She smirks again, almost laughing. It gives her more power within these walls than the pets of the Enkil family have here.

A young man walked the halls leading through the arena, his padded boots making soft noises with each step. *Tap, tap, tap* Each step echoed through the empty halls, making the whole area seem dark and mysterious. Different colored eyes scanned the stone walls, one dark indigo, the other light green. Taking a deep breath in through moist nostrils the man caught the faint whiff of a female.

Taking a slight interest in the change of smell through those dank halls he followed the pleasing smell. The sweet fragrance was better than the smell of mold and death haunted his nose. Not too long after he averted the path, his strange colored eyes met the soft curves of the woman. He tilted his head to the side lightly, trying to get a better look at the woman, but it didn't help.

The man wore long robes, a grayish tint with silver chains running through black reinforced holes. He watched the woman but only a little from below his hood before clearing his throat to catch the woman's attention.

"Aug!!!" Came the gut wrenching cry of pain as the man doubled over, grabbing the bare chested man in front of him to support himself, as he looked down at the hilt jammed up against his gut. The end of the gladius was protruding from the man's back, shining in the light, but covered in blood. The man then looked up into the cold, icy blue eyes and gasped in pain one final time before his opponant withdrew his blade, turning this into a spinning horozontal sweep of his blade that, as he came back around, took the man's head clean off. Blood splattered all over everywhere, including the man's scarred and tanned chest. He let out a triumphant roar of dominance as the corpse fell to the ground. He was frozen in an end fight stance, gladius out to his right, parralel to the ground, dripping blood, his left leg out to his side and behind him a bit, his right leg bent slightly beneath him, his left hand at his side holding hid parma as he roared triumphantly at his fallen opponant. All this was done in three seconds. The roar took up two and three forths of these three seconds, as the man then stood up straight again, performing a quick motion with his sword arm, shaking all the blood off with a precise, and almost unseen blood clean. He then sheathed his gladius in the sheath in his shield, nodded to his fallen opponant, then simply turned and headed for the exit of the arena. The battle was over, he was bored, and the cheering crowds didn't interest him, he was now going to recieve his money, which had been the only thing to look forward to in these last twelve fights. His opponants were weaklings, ill taught and kept merely to die at the hands of others, usually others as weak as they were.

Yinar lifts her icy blue eyed gaze to the source of noise she had heard. A man who had cleared his throat. She studies him for a moment. He isn't in one of the cages or escorted by guards. He isn't a gladiator. Interesting to say the least really. She smiles to herself. Perhaps he wishes for a better look. She steps out of the shadows she had been standing in and into light provided by windows placed high on the walls. She's in her black and silver armor. Her long sword is at her side. If one were to think the sword her only weapon, they would be sorely mistaken. She gives the man before her a smile. "May I help you?"

Emslebeth is speaking to the guard who gives fighters their winnings. "Princess Lina is looking for a new guard. I want to hear from you personally if you spot anyone who has such potential." She gets in the man's face. "You would do well not to send me a weakling either. Some common gladiator will not do." She notices how the man's fearful eyes drift from her to something else. She turns her head just enough for her intense blue eyes to settle upon the fighter walking towards them. She takes in the blood and lack of shirt.

The man kept his gaze upon the woman as she moved further into the light. He took note of the weapon she had tied to her waist and the armor covering her body. He figured this strange woman must be a fighter of some sort, and judging by the loud noise echoing through the halls, this was an arena. He was new to this place so he wasn’t aware of the customs or mannerisms that were expected of people.

He glanced around the woman for a moment as if he could get his answers from behind her, but nothing came. He shrugged his shoulders lightly at the woman, deciding to answer her question truthfully. “Yes, I am new here and am searching for a place to acquire money. . . Do you know if this arena allows free lance fighters?” He asked.

Yinar laughs softly, a pleasant sound. "I know everything about this arena." Her eyes scan him, admiring what she can of the man. New blood was always best in her opinion. Especially since they didn't know to fear her in some way. "They do allow free lance fighters. I am one myself. I am also a warrior for the Shingblade household. Princess Lina Shiningblade is the owner of this arena." She raises a hand and pushes her hair back away from her face. "I can show you to the guard who deals with us if you would like."

The man nodded his head at the woman, a smile gracing his lips. He figured this was all too easy to come without a price, but whatever it was he would pay when the time came. “If you would be so kind, I would like to speak with the guard.” The man said giving the woman a small bow of appreciation.

Thinking about what he would ask the guard when the time came he let his eyes meet with the woman’s. She was beautiful, something most women didn’t have when taking the job of a fighter, though beauty was a formidable tool in a fight, most lost it to be a better fighter. “I take it you get better benefits if you fight for a family in the arena right?” He asked, waiting for the woman to lead him to the guard.

Yinar starts down the wide hallway. Her hips sway as she walks, an unconscious movement. "You get more respect if you fight for one of the families, more privileges. You also tend to get paid more if you win and you get some pay if you lose. If you survive the loss, that is. If you die and fight for a family, a handsome amount of money goes to a person you are allowed to specify." She smiles at that. She has made no such specification. She does not see herself losing any time soon. "Free lancers are given rooms here at the arena. Not a cage, a room. I, on the other hand, stay at the Shiningblade castle most of the time. I have a room here and rooms there."

The man listened to her speak about the perks of being under the name of a family. He didn’t have much need for such perks, though they would make his stay more enjoyable. If he could relax while he didn’t fight he might be able to uncover some of the mysteries about him. “Sounds nice. I don’t suspect one could find a house willing to sponsor, at least not without showing the capabilities that fighter has. But what would be some of the requirements to get a house to sponsor?” He asked.

He had no interest at the moment in finding a house to stay at, but if the “cells” that the woman mentioned were less than enjoyable he would look into it. Seth followed behind the woman, his robes just a few inches above the floor. He tried to keep his eyes from the constant swaying of the woman’s hips, but such movement was hard to pry his gaze from. It had been a while since he had been in the presence of another, and this woman was just asking for his gaze.

Yinar can feel his eyes upon her. It draws another smile from her. "If you were to speak to Princess Lina, she would most likely sponsor you. She's very compassionate and doesn't actually like the arena her father has given her. She understands why free lancers fight, but she doesn't like enslaving other to fight for the entertainment of a crowd. It disturbs her on some level." She spots one of the guards a little farther ahead, speaking to a group of his fellows. She knows the guard. He is who they must speak with. "Other times, though, free lancers will start with no sponsoring house and will gain one by getting their attention in the arena."

Seth nodded his head lightly pulling his gaze from the woman for a second. He noticed the guard that they were approaching, but was more interested in the conversation at hand. “How would one go about getting the attention from other houses? And do different houses offer different benefits, or are they all the same?” He asked, though his gaze was now fixated on the nearing guard.

What about this Princess Lina? What kind of person is she? Does her father mind her taking in so many warriors?” He also asked. Seth knew that by asking so many questions it would be obvious that he was new to this place, but he had already let that out so he needn’t hide it.

Yinar thinks upon his questions for a moment, wondering on how much to tell him of the princess. He would find out about Lina if she tells him or not. "You gain their attention by winning. The more or grander the wins, the more attention you receive. I do not know of the benefits of the other houses. I would imagine those sponsored by the Enkils would get the most." She glances over her shoulder at him. "Princess Lina is a very kind woman. She treats everyone equally unless they show themselves unworthy of her respect. She has even been known to take royal food and blankets to the gladiators." She looks back to the guards to hide her disgust from him as she continues. "Her father does not care what she does with the arena so long as he can continue to use her as he sees fit."

It was a strange state of affairs that was for sure. Seth didn’t know if he would be alright with accepting a sponsor from a family so early, especially from this princess. Maybe it was because he had trouble trusting, or perhaps the idea of getting something for nothing made him shy away from the idea. Whatever the cause, Seth didn’t ask any more questions about the sponsor or this Lina person.

Seth watched the guard as they neared, not sure if this was the man they had to speak to or not. He didn’t make eye contact with the woman before him when she looked back, nor did he seem to take note of her returned gaze. Though it seemed he wasn’t paying attention, he could tell by how the woman spoke, even though just a little, she didn’t approve of Lina’s fathers actions. He did however have a question about the Enkil family, though he didn’t ask them.

Yinar stops behind the guard. The other men instantly quiet and she smiles at the silence. The guard turns to her and takes a quick step back. "Good day to you as well, Keeloc. I have a new freelancer here. You will take his name, wont you?" She smiles more as the guard, Keeloc, nods rather quickly. "Good. He will need a room as well. I will let him stay in mine until one can be properly prepared." She takes a small step to the side so that the man may introduce himself to Keeloc.
