The matter of the controls is nothing- Its adapting, if you can adapt and retain the old way as well your an exceptional pilot, thats the problem though slipping back and forth from the button, to the analog and the new styled controls is rather difficult, thats why i have both systems and both controllers in my room to practice back and forth between work and other random stuff that goes on around here..
personally though if i had to choose, id say the new controls have won me over the old, for some reason the old felt a bit to linear for me, but it does have better handling.

feel so ashamed...
i prefer the newer controls. i had a super hard time in AC3 and lower. once the new ones came, i immedialty noticed how much better i was playing. mind you, i could play them well, just wasnt so quick on looking up and down lol.

To be honest, I have to set up a custom configuration. The default ones are so awkward, and my friends are used to those, which makes it even harder when we trade off controllers to play against eachother.

MOA trained me on Classic A type. Put me on B type and I feel like a fish on land. Just can't handle that sad mockery of a first person shooter control setup. Old School for me XD

The FPS setup seems a bit more reactive though. the timing is alot trickier with the classic setup.

Yeah, I did notice that fact. The precision with which I could pull off shots with the new style was smoother, but it would take me time to learn and get as good as I am with the old type.

as it is i never had a problem with either control setups but i will admit the new setup did throw me off for the first few battles but it gradually faded away and i began to feel my shots and looking up and down is rather tricky for me as well but thats why they make a custom setting after all

I have come to enjoy Control Type B, the bumpers on the 360 being the firing buttons. It makes it a lot more accurate, responsive, and I can fire and turn at the same time; something you couldn't do when firing on X and A. BTW this is my first post, and my entry to the guild is pending.

My biggest problem with the new controls for AC4 is that afterwards when I try to go and play another Armored Core game I tend to try to Quick Boost out of the way... and that doesn't work sweatdrop

I'm like, "I can dodge that!" on LR but I just end up with a grenade or missile in my face... sad

I personally feel that Armored Core 4's controls are horrible. Aiming and firing at the same time is a pain. do you guys switch the firing buttons to the right button and right trigger or what do you do?
