At the time of the role play, Manaan is the only source of kolto for the galaxy. It's native inhabitants are the Selkath, and the planet itself is an ocean world. The only above water city is that of Ahto. In times of galactic war, Manaan plays the switzerland card.
At the time of the role play, manaan is also home to the order of Shasa. A group of force users trained in the traditions of the selkath. IE: not jedi, not sith, and no you can't play one without special permission.

Once the small ship landed in a docking zone, Jerrick slowly got out and sighed. "Very nice. Hopefully you won't be showing off in front of the Selkath." He let his coat loose, but hid his lightsaber while heading to the docking bay entrance, gathering some credits to pay the docking fee.

 Amelia only showed a grin as she followed her master off the docking bay. It was her first time on a real adventure, but she had no idea what to do. She just followed Jerrick, waiting for his orders.

Jerrick quickly paid the docking fee and was heading towards the city center. "Stay close Amelia. The Selkath are very strict with their rules, punishable by death. So we must mind ourselves here." The Miraluka warned as he kept moving, heading towards the Republic headquarters on Manaan. They could help him out.

Amelia nodded, looking around warily. She noticed they were headed for the Republic Headquarters, and she was almost surprised they existed here. But with the whole kolto deal and all it made sense. "Master, what exactly are we trying to figure out?"

"Something is wrong at the kolto production facility. The Republic may be able to help us out." Jerrick replied lowly and kept walking, staying out o the Selkath way and of other people. This was like any other mission: he was just a shadow, silent and always moving, staying out of sight.

Amelia copied her Master's stealthy movements, but looked around along the way. She was quite curious, and found everything amazing. The endless ocean was breath-taking that she had seen before landing.

((sorry, been feeding my addiction to City of Villains and Galactic Civ 2. ))
As the jedi landed, they were approached by a selkath in a factory uniform. He nodded to them and said, " You are the ones sent by the council to inspect the kolto production facility for us? I take it you have the new safety protocols with you that we are to begin implementing?"
Jerrick had been given the 'safety protocols' in the same datastick that had held the information on their mission. Apparently, someone had called ahead with Jerrick and Amelia's descriptions for this person waiting for them.

The Selkath nodded and lead them to the facility. Around 15 minutes later, they arrived at the place. The following hour was spent touring the upper floors of the facility, at the end, the selkath said to them, " we'll be taking a break now for about thirty minutes. It's time for lunch. When you are done eating, please go to the secretary and notify her that you are ready to resume the tour."

"Indeed I will. Thank you." Jerrick nodded and took Amelia aside. "Come with me, and stay quiet. We have a small time frame to explore..I sense force energy coming from beneath us..Notice the Selkath guide did not tell us what was below the facility....Let's move." With that, he slid out of the cafeteria and used his senses to guide him.

Amelia's words over the next moments consisted merely of "Yes Master," she had decided to hold her questions for later. The tour wasn't of that much interest to her. Actually the levels below the Temple were more fascinating to herself. With lunch she ate quickly and quietly, then followed Jerrick to the secretary.

As they went deeper into the factory they would mostly see more of what they already had. Large amounts of various computing systems and automated workings. The doors were mostly open until they got quite far down. The would be far under the sea level of manaan. In fact, if they had a window to look out of, they wouldn't be able to see any light. The fist obstacle proved to be a thick red door, which was locked. In addition, it had a keypad next to it.

Staring at the keypad, Jerrick scratched his chin. "Hmm...." The first thought that came to mind was to use his lightsaber and cut through the door, but that would both too much time and be a hassle. He could try to hack the system, but it was risky if they would get caught. Worth a try.
"Alrighty...I'll try and hack the system, unless you have a better idea Amelia."
