Maybe you have them, maybe you don't. I know of a few good quotes about plants. Although, some are more like inside jokes. PErhaps some of you will enjoy them.
Feel free to add you own!

If I was a teacher teaching about plants, I would say "here's the paper reed." all the time. Paper reed is a type of cyperus. It's scientific name is papyrus, a common name is paper reed. Also as a fun fact added to this papyrus was used to make paper. So here's the paper reed. ^.^

I once confused my friends by saying there was pink snow in my front yard (referring to the cherry petals falling off my tree). They couldn't fathom how in the world I was getting pink snow, in the middle of May no less whee

lol how funny! My favorite is the classic "A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet..." from Romeo and Juliet. I heart Shakespeare!! The analogy itself ish phenomenal, but the message it conveys is soo true to itself 4laugh I'm not sure if that was the kind of quote you were looking for, but here it is... thanks for your time pplz!

A garden requires patient labor and attention. Plants do not grow merely to satisfy ambitions or to fulfill good intentions. They thrive because someone expended effort on them. Liberty Hyde Bailey
I do not yet know why plants come out of the land or float in streams, or creep on rocks or roll from the sea. I am entranced by the mystery of them, and absorbed by their variety and kinds. Everywhere they are visible yet everywhere occult. Liberty Hyde Bailey

Some friends and I walked past the Marri and Karri trees in one of the gardens at uni and I hugged one (as I often do). My boyfriend said "Gee! Why don't you just marri it?" razz
Then we made jokes about how Karris are harder but Marris have deeper roots... (Karri wood is harder and takes longer to burn but Marris have deep tap roots). Yay for tree inuendo!!! rofl

We learnt about some of the unique plants in WA's southwest (a plant biodiversity hotspot just fyi) and the interactions with other organisms in ecology at uni and it made me think of some cute comics I want to draw for you guys (along with an explanation for those who don't kno about this specific type of plant of course) but it is in the middle of exam time right now so I shall do it when I get a chance and post it here ok?

I saw a sign once that said "You aren't stretching yourself as a gardiner if you aren't killing a few plants every now and then."
I like that saying. It makes me feel better.
