Straight from JK Rowling herself:
After slash fans have had their go at all the HP characters for so long, one has finally come out of the closet. Unfortunately it's not Harry, Draco, Remus, or Sirius as were our favorites. Nope it's good old Headmaster Albus Dumbledore! Explains his relationship to Grindelwald at least, ne?
Edit: Funny how the ONE hetero fanon ship (not what was, what would be cute) I put together got sunk, innit? stressed

News Update: The tentative release date for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince has been announced as November 21st. Thus sayeth USA Today.
