This island can become colder than you ever though possible...but Kurokawa, which lies nearby, but is unaccesable to you from here, somehow manages to stay warm. Probably something to with the giant volacno in it's center. The pokemon that reside here take refuge near the gap between the two islands to be warmest when the cold becomes so unbearable. Some can take it without needing to, though. The mountains are hard and treacherous to climb, where bitter winds have the force to throw you off.In the largest mountain there is a man-made cave, though avalanches make it hard to get into...and out of.
