The town is well built like a fortress, to keep creatures out...and them in. Gossip and spying has turned out that the lord, the one in charge, is absolutely filled with greed, squeezing what little money these poor human have through taxes. Their are warriors in vast numbers here to protect the ruler, but they too are greedfull, and are even more then the ruler. Creatures in human forms are to be extremely careful, or end up like a bear rug.

'Squeek squeek squeek'The town, even at night was bustling with activity. Bargainers were haggling customer's for prices, people were walking by, talking or arguing with eachother, and even more so women were being picked off for 'guests' at a man's house. Then...there was the pub, a small, quaint little bar, filled with drunken warriros, farmers, and even young women...
Squeek squeek squeek squeek...
"Nahahahaaaa!!! My your so funny, brave warrior!" chirped a girl at a side booth, obviously drunk without wits. The man smiled drunkly aswell, wrapping an arm around him and began singing way off tune...
It was then something creeped into the doorway, heading straight for the two couple so nestled with eachother.
"You know, your vewy pweety when I look at ya," he slurred, smiling big like a bafoon. The young girl blushed deeply, and as they were about to come in for a kiss, the young man made a loud yell of pain, smacking his leg quickly.
"Are-are you alright?" asked the girl, who checked the man's seemingly founded wound. Two puncture marks were embeede into his ankle, and was already starting to turn blue. "You must've gotten bitten by a mosquito or something," she stated and looked back up at him. It was then that she back up in fear and screamed loudly, bringing everyone's attention to them. the warrior had his sword, and looked like he was about to swing madly. He did...he yelled and growled, swiping at everything his sword could chip into. People began running out of the pub in frantic fear, many getting caught in the mad man's attacks, but still managed to limp away. it was then when he reached outside the pub, he suddenly looked around confused.
"Wha--?" before he could even ask, guards from all around swarmed and fisted him to the ground, arresting him.
"Heheheheeeee..." laughed a small mouse from the side lines, licking the small blood he had gotten from the man. "That was so much fun...who else is there to mess with?" he asked, looking around for another prey.

Maroon had been standing just outside the pub, contemplating entering to search for any leads on his latest assignment. He clicked his tongue in mock-sympathy, then dragged himself away from the wall. Mad-house. He wasn't going in there. Probably a bunch of loons, and none of them would be able to help him. As he walked away from the pub, his shotgun thumping comfortably against his thigh, he whistled a tune, dipping his hat to any sensible person that greeted him. Though, there weren't many. It was late, and in this part of town, people tended to get drunk and stay drunk. He wrinkled his nose when a particularly obnoxious man staggered by, belching loudly and spouting rude obscenities as he passed. "No good," Maroon growled, sweeping his ocean gaze around the street. "Gonna hafta wait until morning, looks like..." With a sigh, he continued walking, now looking for a place to rent a room for the night.

After having his full of fun, Tanka slinked outside, taking a big notice to the man with a shotgun. He smirked, must be some sort've bounty hunter. He didn't really care whom he was going after, this would be fun...
Tanka followed nonchalantly behind the hunter, darting into allies when given the chance to look as a casual rat.

The tall man walked casually down the street, hands in the pockets of his duster. His sword was a reassuring weight against his back, pistol a known asset in his duster, and shotgun something easy, yet reckless, to reach for should the need arise. His whistling transformed into a defined humming, as he searched for a suitable inn to stay the night in. He stopped in front of one such buildings, or what he hoped to be one, and glanced around out of pure habit. In his line of work, he'd encountered knowledgeable people that were against his kind, and was so used to checking around him before entering a structure. Just to make sure he wasn't followed. He couldn't fight back very well in a confined place like an inn's common room, or the room he rents for the night. Too many people might accidentally get hurt. Hiking boots striking the wooden floor roughly, he entered the inn and looked around, then casually walked up to the front desk, pulling his napsack from his shoulder as he went. "Good evening, sir..." the innkeeper greeted, smiling brightly. Maroon nodded, pulling out his wallet. "I need a room for the night..." The innkeeper's smile almost seemed to brighten. "Yes, yes, of course!" He turned his back to Maroon and quickly scanned for a key. When he found it, he turned back around and held it out to him. "You can pay in the morning, sir. Room 214." Maroon ignored the first of the man's statement, slapping down what was usually inn-fare. He grabbed the key and nodded, the brim of his cowboy hat hiding his eyes. Without much sound, he moved off for the stairs, and went on up to find his room.

Svetlana made her way to the city, relizing she would never find that girl in these crouds. She was now a girl around the age of 12. She had a flute case with her, that she had opened, with the flute pieced together. She was warming up, practicing the scale. Up and Down. Up and Down. Finialy getting the hang of it she started Ave Maria. The high notes rang out, and the low quivered beautifuly. She had her case open, and a fiew people dropped there change into it. She closed her eyes, letting her short black hair get fuffled in the faint street breeze, wishing only that it was the Medow breeze, ruffling her main instead.

His room eh? Heh...even better.
Tanka was still following the man, making a few idle turns around the place to be less suspicious. He jumped up the stairs after the man and quickly climbed up the wall and into the vents. He watched from below, quickly scampering sort've behind yet above him aswell.

Maroon stopped in front of room 214, looking up and down the hallway. He had the feeling that he was being watched. He saw nothing though, for he even looked up on the walls and ceiling and down on the ground, so turned and jiggled the key into the lock. After he heard the resound click, he pushed into his room and closed up, locking the door again. "Humph... 'course, what can I expect?" He sighed. The room was quaint, sparingly decorated. It had the necessities, nothing too fancy. A bed, which Maroon quickly deposited his napsack onto, a dresser where he tossed the room key, next to a water basin with a pitcher of water in it. He yawned, sitting down on the bed as he pulled off his boots. He began murmuring to himself as he slipped out of his duster, careful not to cut the leather on his sword, "Maybe I'll have better luck tomorrow. More people around in the daytime, I'm sure." He set the sword next to the bed, near the pillow. The shotgun went next to it, also in easy reach. His pistol was slipped up underneath his pillow. He grunted, smiling to all the precautionary steps he takes before getting comfortable to sleep. Once he was sure no one would be visiting him this late at night, he stood back up, and unbuttoned his pants. He left them on, though, and sat back down with another yawn.

He stopped short when the hunter stopped at a door. He smirked, turing through the air vent into the room. He then merely sat down in the vent, watching through the it as the guy began to seemingly get ready for bed.
"This'll be fun. As soon as the this big guy falls asleep, it will be a night to remember..." (Watch out Puppy. o.o)

(( *whimpers* Wh..what're you gonna do to my cutie?! *huggles Maroon* )) Bankes stretched, arching his back till it popped. Then he exhaled loudly and hopped back, grabbing his napsack as he went. He propped up the pillow and leaned against it, pulling open the bag. "Le's see here..." He murmured, digging through it. He pulled out his wallet, flipping it open to see how much money he had left for this trip. His jobs usually paid well, but lately things have been slow. His tasks had dwindled down to menial things, running errands for an elderly couple. Things that weren't worth his time. He bit back a growl at the few bills left crisp in his wallet. The folded leather wallet was tossed back into the sack. Maroon dug around some more, frowned, then shifted to dig in the pockets of his duster. With a small 'aha!', he produced a small notepad from a pocket. He flipped through, stopping on one of the back pages. "Okay... So... I'm lookin fer a... a 'Scroll of...'" He frowned at the paper, mouthing the word slowly, "'Na.. Nakro... Nakranim?' Th' crap's that...?" He groaned, rolling his eyes. At the bottom of the note page was scrawled in neat little letters, 'Pick up Troll's Blood'. He shut the notepad and tossed it back onto his duster. "Old hag.. I ain't riskin my neck for some troll's blood..." He grumbled, crossing his arms. He crossed his legs at the ankles and glared at his socked toes. "This is a waste of time. A pointless assignment. I'll be damned if there's even a 'Scroll of Nakranim', anyway..." His eyes were half-lidded, though they still trailed around the room, making sure he didn't have any unwanted visitors. It wasn't long before they drifted shut, though. He was tired; the trek to this pitiful excuse of a town took a lot out of him.

Now was the time. Squeezing through the vent, Tanka landed on the soft carpeted floor. He looked up to the bed and began scurrying towards it. He climbed the bed post and slowly treked his way up to the hunter's face. He tried to make himself look as mouses as possible, even throwing his robe off way back in the town for a better look.
He wasn't sure if he should try to control the hunter. What happenes if he figured out before hand? He would then know who to look for. He sighed, believing the human wasn't that smart. He tip toed to the crook of the man's neck, and with sudden verocity, bit him deep and jumped off under the bed before he could see him. (Muwahahahaaaa...)

(( Nauuu! My pretty Maroon!! *swats at Tanka* Leave my baby alone!!! )) The man let out a uncomfortable grunt, a hand swatting up at his neck. His eyes flew open and he sat up quickly, grabbing his sword. He'd felt something crawling up on him, and had even cracked his eyes open a little to see what it was. What could he say? He was a light sleeper. Had to be; too many people have tried to kill him on one job or another. The sword tip swung close to the edge of the bed, scraping against the floor. "Rat... Come out or I'll hunt you out." For emphasis, the hammer of the pistol clicked back soundly. Bankes turned, swinging his feet onto the floor and stood up, looking around, pistol and sword in hand. He searched every nook, the base of the wall, cracks something a tiny creature could slip through. He took a few steps away from the bed, then stopped. He turned around, and knelt down, peering under the bed. "Bingo." he snarled, though his expression began to relax. He couldn't explain the sensation, except for feeling like something warm and soothing was coursing through him. Almost like hot cocoa on a frigid evening. He shook his head quickly, and reached out to grab Tanka. (( I dun know how the rodent's venom works... lemme know if I did something wrong. ><; ))

(You didn't do anything wrong. the venom was suppossed to let Tanka control him, but it don't seem like the guy is to happy. ^^;; )
"Oh s**t' came the rat's thoughts as a hand reached in and grabbed him by the tail. He made a liud yelp and in reaction, sunk his fangs into his hand to make him let go. He scurried off jumping onto the top of the bed and made a move to jump on the man's back to boost him off further...hopefully it would work.
He was shocked to find the guy had seen him! What a big fat bummer that he now was up and at 'em, and he even had his sword in hand! 'I knew this was stupid! Now the guy is mad, and I bit him again! He's so gonna fry me up!' he cried in his mind. He jumped ontop of the guy's back, hoping to dear gods he wouldn't fall off of him.

"Gah! Damn rodent!" Maroon snarled. Bitten, twice! He stood up as quickly as he could, firing the pistol once at his bed, where the rat was. He hadn't expected the creature to leap up at him. 'I guess he didn't think I'd stand up that fast.' he thought bitterly. He let his sword fall against the side of the bed just as Tanka collided with his chest, and he caught the rat as he fell. He was sure to hold his arms and legs still this time. At least he was prepared. Another bite wouldn't make him drop him. "Alright now, ya little vermin." The man growled, bringing Tanka up to eye level. "What're you doin' in my room, and why do you keep biting me? Who hired you?" He gave the little rat a shake, trying to intimidate the small creature into talking.

"CRAP!!" the rodent squeeled, landing right at his chest. He made a grummble of pain, and fell into his hands twitching slightly. But he soon broke out of that phase as the man tightened his grip around him and began shaking him.
"Wahahahahahaahahahahaaa!" he cried, trying to breath to answer him. "Nobody hired me!! I was merely exploring!! I mean....SQUEEK!!!" he tried to cover up, almost tearing up because he was so afraid now.
