Since the original was on Nintendo as for most of them, I figured this would be an okay subject. Especially, since I talk about the older ones as well.
I have beaten this game twice. The first time it took me 98 hours. Only 66 the second time. Well, now I am on the third time. Not to bad for the time. This game is a great addition to the series. I would love to get ahold of IV. VII was a pretty good too. I own I-III on gameboy, which nothing was changed, so a good buy if you take the liking to. I strongly recommend this game to any RPGer. Heck, Dragon Warrior was the start of RPG games. Then, Phantasy Star and then, of course Final Fantasy. You will not go wrong with this game, I will assure you. I-VII have the classic play, but VIII is the newer type. I waited for two years for this game, and it was worth every minute.

Dang this place is a bit dead.. ._.;
Anyway, on topic, Dragon Quest VIII was okay.. o_o The 3D thing was pretty nicely done, considering Dragon Quest series has always been a fairly simple game in terms of graphics. Although they might have had some nice effects in battles, mainly the spells and skills and what not.. I didn't like the Skill system they had in Dragon Quest VIII though. D= I want Dharma Temple back.
I'm looking forward to Dragon Quest IX though for the DS. Wireless play for multiplayer, custom characters, which would most likely mean there'd be a job class system, if it's custom and all, and... even customize your character's outfits and looks. o_o That's pretty awesome there, and adds a lot of variety to the players, IMO. That'd be pretty great.
