Ok, so yesterday I recieved my A-level results (Because I'm British and we do that sort of thing). I won't go in to how badly I did because that's unimportant.
The important thing here is that for one of my subjects, Music Technology, the exam board that invigilates the subject is called Edexcel (who have a terrible reputation among exam boards if I remember correctly).
A bit of context: The final grade itself consists of two pieces of coursework and a written exam. The final grade is the average between each grade given.
What's ticked me off, you ask? This is what.
Edexcel lost my goddamn coursework.
That's right. They lost an incredibly important part of my final grade.
However, the most infuriating thing is that to avoid being taken to court by me (and pretty much my entire music tech class), they have basically given me a grade based on my predicted performance i.e. they gave me a grade that might not even represent the proper quality of the work.
And the worst thing? Edexcel have cocked up like this before several times, each incident resulting in someone being worse off than they should be. One example includes a misprint in an A-level maths paper a couple of years ago, rendering a question impossible to complete. Edexcel, in their infinite wisdom, basically said "Screw you, you could still do it if you tried, you failures". Nice PR ******** you, Edexcel. I hope your ivory tower collapses.
Also hi I'm new.
