I'm sorry to those who like it, since I tried to listen to most of the bands labeled "post punk revival", but I think most of them are s**t.
Why? Because I dont see how you can be post punk if your The Killers, who unlike some of the bands they are influenced by, sound completely homogenized and lack the creativity and experimental elements that many of the early post punk bands had.
Same goes with The Bravery, Franz Ferdinand, The Long Blondes, Art Brut, Interpol and The Strokes.
Does anyone know of any good post punk revivial bands? I love theSTART, The Vanishing and The Faint who have all been described as part of the movement but I'm still looking for the modern day versons of Adam & The Ants and Bauhaus... no such luck.
AND INTERPOL ARE NOT THE NEW JOY DIVISON! they may have totally ripped off their sound but Joy Divison will and always be a billion times better then those cunts.

Haha, I listen to a lot of Post Punk Revival, including Killers, Interpol, Strokes, etc. They're a far cry from what's the best out there, but I still truly appreciate what good songs they have dished out.
But yes, I think there's definitely some great post punk rev groups out there. I love theStart myself. I've never gotten into The Faint, but I've probably not heard the right songs yet. Never heard of The Vanishing.
Some other post punk revival groups I dig are: I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness, The Open, Xiu Xiu, Hard-Fi, and Tokyo Police Club. And of all the Joy Division rips, I like The Editors.

Thye have a darker sound then theSTART but like the start you can really hear the Siouxsie and Cure influence in them.

Interpol are the band that have the most similar sound to JD.Their debut was nice. The Killers are very mediocre.Have you heard the Shadowplay cover for the Control OST they totally killed it cry

There's a couple of those bands that I really like but most are terrible.
Handsome Furs and The Faint stick out.

People are calling the Killers post punk? ._____.
I wasn't aware, I thought it was understood they were pop-rock.

The Killers took their name from a New Order video and apparently, Flowers is a whore for Ian Curtis. Still doesn't mean they make good music.
I Love You, But I've Chosen Darkness are my guilty pleasure, though.

i don't think i'd even heard of the term post punk revival until i came to this group though i guess the term fits better than deathrock revival.
