The way I first got into it when I first checking out new wave and the early punk bands.
Lots of The Police, The Clash, David Bowie, The Ramones, Blondie and 80's compilations...
Then one day I watched this cheesy show on MM Music about rocker chicks and Siouxsie Sioux was on and that was it.
I downloaded a couple of their songs and liked them but once I foung their greatest hits, that was it.
Soon I started liking The Cure, Bauhaus, Joy Division and Christian Death.

I'm the product of being grown around a nothing-but-80's environment, living with Siouxsie, Robert and Peter for my entire life. (Not literally, of course)

The majority of it is from hanging out at the goth-rock thread in the music forum, although I do thank my friend for getting me to like The Cure awhile back.

I have no idea. I know it started in Gaia though. I listen to band recommendations, so I checked 'em all out. I know The Smashing Pumpkins also have post punk influences, so I was craving to see which they were.

Billy Corgan called Unknown Pleasures one of his top 4 albums of all time (along a Beatles and Rolling Stones one I forget which, and My Bloody Valentine's Loveless). I've read him mention Echo & the Bunnymen too. They've done a great deal of other new wave/post punk covers... The Cars, Blondie, Missing Persons, and Talking Heads.

I didn't really know what to think of their cover of Destination Uknown by Missing Persons.
Its just okay to me.
