It seems obvious that whenever Aang has a meltdown and enters the Avatar State, he always has Katara to pull him out of it.
Well, my prediction is that sometime in the show, Aang will have a meltdown/anger moment because of something Katara does. That way, he will learn to cope with issues on his own instead of leaning on his girlfriend's shoulder and using her to calm down.
Opinion?

Misleading title... I thought it would actually be about the avatar state, not future plot.
On topic, it's possible, but I don't think that's gonna happen. The avatar state isn't something bad... it's the power and wisdom of all the previous avatars.

So... basically when Aang's hormones start acting up, the only solution so far is Katara?
Sounds better than Aang using his own hands to calm himself down. lol

Well, I am a Zutaara fan, so I can't say I agree. I think it is Katara who is able to help him because she acts like a mother.

Well, so far it's always been life or death situations or fear for the safety of a loved one. (Aside from the first one, in which it was BECAUSE of the death of a loved one) So, unless Katara either dies or kills like, Appa, or something, I'm gonna have to disagree. It's not just an emotional freakout that does it, it's more like a fight or flight reaction. Honestly, what can anyone think of that could push Ang into the Avatar State other than like, die?

I'll agree with the above on this one. However i will add this: If Aang ever takes weird-halfnaked-indian-man's words to heart its possible that he will be able to trigger the state at a pin drop (possible not probable) but that would entail letting go of Katara (i dident say not loving her, just so that I don't get my head chewed off) and accepting that the needs of the world superceed his need of her.

ummm well i didnt see when this topic was posted but 1) its getting near the end now so that seems improbable an 2) that doesnt seem like something that the writers would do because the way things are now shows that aang is still stoppable and full of emotion
