Most people would consider abortion murder. But just a couple days ago, I found out that it was sometimes saving lives, that were already born. No idea what I'm saying? Read on to find out.
Abortion: Is it Murder? Killing your baby before it even sees its first light? Or in some cases, is it saving lives of many poor kids, who had lost their virginity at an early age. I don't know what to think. So I ask The New Ed what they think.
Explaination:
How do people consider it murder?
Well, some people think that killing your child, before it is born, is murder. By simply taking the egg out of the mothers body early, and destroying it.
How does it save lives of many?
I think that most people know that some teenagers, ranging from the age of 12-16, have their children by mistake and the baby ruins their lives. Some people keep the baby, and some put it up for adoption. The mother who sends their child away, has the disappointment inside them forever, and the sadness of not knowing their baby. BUT, the mother who picks abortion, still has to live with disappointment, but knowing that she did something to save her childhood. So how does it save lives of many? It saves the childhood of many poor kids.
DISCUSS:::
-Is abortion right? -would you do abortion? -Do you consider it murder? -Do you think it saves lives? -Is there any other feelings the mother would feel after abortion?

Alright, first thing's first. Dont bump in this guild. It's not as active as it was like when we had 100+ members during the first week. Give it time, people will mosey along. Thanks for making the thread, though.
Back on topic.
-"Right" is an opinion, you'll get different answers here. -Depends on the circumstance. I'm not a woman, so I obviously feel different about this whole deal, but I think abortion is okay in cases of rape or if it will cause harm to the mother. And by harm, I mean things /other/ than what normally comes with being pregnant, like weight gain, stretch marks, blah blah blah. I'm talking about like... death and stuff. -I consider abortion murder when it's two horndog teenagers who thought "Gee, we can't get pregnant! We're only having unprotected secks!". Well, not necessarily teens, it applies to anybody in general. -Saves lives? Who knows. The kid might've turned out to be a mass murderer, so yeah. Or for all we know, the baby you just sucked the brain out of might have grown up to be the guy who finds a cure for the common cold. Until we invent the "What-If?" machine like from Futurama, we'll never know. -I'm not a woman, so I really wouldn't understand feelings after abortion, although I do think it's safe to say that some of the feelings would either be "God, it's a shame we had to abort the baby." or "Good riddance. That thing was nothing but a parasite who entered my body without my permission. I mean, sure, I had sex, but I dont know how the sucker got in there in the first place."

Sorry, my first post on The New ED.
Back to the point:
Well, I am a women. And yet, you are right. That's all I really have to say, because I already said in the first post, I don't know what to think.

I don't think that the reasoning behind the abortion determines whether or not it is murder. I think it is the stage at which the abortion is performed. I'm not a fan of 3rd trimester abortions. A fetus aborted because it's a product of rape and a fetus aborted because it was unwanted but came about through casual sex are exactly the same. The fetus still gets aborted. If it's okay to abort for some reasons, then it should be okay for others. The outcome is the same.

What's the difference between third trimester and any other trimester? The fetus still gets aborted.

With a rape fetus (early on) and a consentual fetus, (early on) the only difference is reasoning. With early and late abortions, the action is different. Aborting an early fetus is not the same physical action, whereas aborting fetuses of the same age but for different reason is the same deed. Do you see what I'm saying, or was I unclear?

Just a little, although it seems like you're now focusing a bit more on reason tha age. It's probably just me. Now that school's back in session, I haven't been able to think straight in forever.

Now that school's back in session, I haven't been able to think straight in forever. A bit. If you have to fetuses that are the same age, why does the reason matter for their abortion? Generally, for later stage fetuses, I think abortion is bad. My only exception there would be the very rare cases in which the mother is at risk. That's sort of a different circumstance, as one of them will die anyway, and both could die, so you should save the mother. I would rank the pregnant woman over the fetus in importance, as the woman is undeniably a person with rights, whereas the status of a fetus is in question. Hope that didn't confuse you more.
