 Noah walked in, Rai on his shoulder, with a glimmering light coming from Rai's brooch. Noah looked around the stadium. This was their second battle, the last one they had lost. Noah had bought the Pearl and Diamond brooch as a present for Rai for "trying his best." This time around, though, they had some experience. The battle against that Raichu had been hard, and Noah had tried to encourage Rai by saying they only lost because Raichu was a Level 2 Pokemon, not to mention in it's evolved form. Rai, of course, wouldn't believe him. They just weren't good enough, and that was the truth. Rai wondered if his trainer would understand the difficulties of actually being in the battle this time.
Noah was, unlike last time, wearing mostly normal clothing. Green shirt, shorts, but...the goggles were an accessory a Gaian would wear casually.
Noah knelt down, and Rai jumped to the ground.
"We'll win this time, right, Hampy?" Noah encouraged.
"Hammmmpy!" Rai agreed.
They both wondered what their next opponent would be like. They heard it looked like a Dog-Human crossbreed, but only time could tell the rest.

Psyren wandered into the battle arena, her prominent wolf-ears and tail visible to her opponent. Ruka, freshly out of its pokeball; followed patiently by her side, its eyes wandering to the Hampy nearby. "Hi! I'm Psyren, it's a pleasure to meet you!" she smiled, holding out a hand covered in the top half with light purple fur. "And..what a cute Pokemon you have! I hope we all have a good fight!" She let the Trainer speak up if they wanted, listening intently before heading to the Battleground. "Best of luck to you two!" she shouted back to them as Ruka took its position on the field. This would be its' first battle...time to test its' skills.

"Rai, go on, take your place up there." Noah said. Hampy scurried to it's position. "Let's have a good battle!" he said to Psyren, putting his arm up, thumb sticking out. "Hampy!"
"Rai, get ready!" Noah commanded. The Hampy stiffened, and his trainer expected the worst.

"Alright Ruka, start out with Force Palm!" Psyren shouted out the command as shre pulled a few stray pieces of purple hair from her face.
Ruka straightened up as his fist started to glow with a purplish light...and headed straight for the Gaian pokemon!

[Dice Roll] 8x15/16 = 8.5
Ruka's attack seemed to shoot off a shockwave and Psyren could only imagine that it probably more than stung the hamster pokemon.

"Hammy!" Rai was electrified, and fell down face first.
"Rai! Are you alright?!" Noah asked. "Ha-Hampy!" Rai's way of saying 'I guess.'
"Okay, then! Bite!"
Rai recovered, and scurried up to attack. He opened his mouth fully, and chomped down.

(Nah, unfortunately 8*16/15 is 8.5 which gets lowered to 8 damage. Hampy's attack was 8x16/17 which is 7.529. Unfortunately, anything under .8 gets lowered back to the lower number, in this case 7. At least, that's what I've learned in earlier battles.)
Ruka attempted not hold steady but got knocked backwards by the force of the blow.
"Ruka, are you alright?" Psyren asked as the pokemon stood up and nodded, reading for his trainer's next command....
"Alright...try Dark Pulse!"
Ruka nodded again and concentrated; sending out a shockwave of dark energy and thoughts towards its' opponent...

And that last attack was 7(.5) too. D: I checked my calculator. >__<]]
Rai was blow back by the blow. The Hampy shaked his head off.
"Okay, Rai! Quick attack!"
Rai pushed his body forward, delivering a fast, but fierce, blow.
