Welcome Students To Defense Against the Dark Arts Class. I shall be your teacher and hopefully everyone shall have an enjoyable and educational term.
In order for things to run smoothly in class there are a few rules which should be simple enough to follow.
1. Raise your hand if you wish to speak.
2. Show respect towards your fellow students as well as me.
3. You are given a week from the time the lesson is posted to complete your homework, I will not accept late work, unless you had posted in the Hogsmeade thread letting us know you would be gone.
4. Do not and I repeat..Do NOT let the Cornish Pixies out of their cage..

Passing
O- Outstanding
E- Exceeds Expectations
A- Acceptable
Failing
P- Poor
D- Dreadful
T- Troll

House Points
I will award house points as follows:
5hps for turning in homework that any effort was put into.
5 additional hps if it receives an A
10 additional hps if it receives an E
15 additional hps if it receives an O
I will deduct house points for the following:
Rule breaking
Awful Behavior
Purposefully sending in incorrect answers to the homework
And of course...Letting the pixies out of their cages on purpose.
House points awarded this week:
Gryffindor:20
Ravenclaw:85
Hufflepuff:75
Slytherin:35
The points will be added to the hourglasses at the end of each week.

Today's lesson is Boggarts. Boggarts live in dark enclosed areas and take upon the shape of what their victim fears most. They tend to take up residence in closets and chests, thus leaping out to surprise an unsuspecting passerby. The boggart was first introduced in 'The Prisoner of Azkaban' but has had other brief apperances throughout the Harry Potter Series.

What is the spell used to counter Boggarts, and how does it work?
For extra points identify the one time that the Boggart was able to overcome a member of Harry's trio.
Please state which House you are in so that I can give you your points.
