I'm curious to the differences, as my sister is getting married and having a quick, protestant ceremony. Which she said is shorter than the catholic one. Her fiance's family is protestant, and mine catholic, but my mom seems to be ok with it. (referring to my mom, from my thread in the guild's main discussion)
From what I've heard, protestant is a bit more lax.

In terms of the wedding ceremony, nothing significant. There is a bit more religiosity in the traditional catholic ceremony, as far as I am aware, but... nothing massively different in terms of the important parts.

Protestantism isn't quite as comfortable with you buying a prayer candle at Walgreen's and invoking the spirit of a dead stranger to give you money.
