I Why Should I Bother Trying To Fit In
---Welcome Students To Charms Class. I shall be your teacher and hopefully everyone shall have a great term.
In order for things to run smoothly in class there are a few rules which should be simple enough to follow.
1. Raise your hand if you wish to speak.
2. Show respect towards your fellow students as well as me.
3. You are given a week from the time the lesson is posted to complete your homework, I will not accept late work, unless you had posted in the Hogsmeade thread letting us know you would be gone. ---

A- Acceptable
Failing
P- Poor
D- Dreadful
T- Troll

I will award house points as follows:
5hps for turning in homework that any effort was put into.
5 additional hps if it receives an A
10 additional hps if it receives an E
15 additional hps if it receives an O
I will deduct house points for the following:
Rule breaking
Awful Behavior
Purposefully sending in incorrect answers to the homework
House points awarded this week:
Gryffindor:20
Ravenclaw:90
Hufflepuff:85
Slytherin:40
The points will be added to the hourglasses at the end of each week. ---

I Why Should I Bother Trying To Fit In
---Past Lessons
Lesson 1- Basic Spells
Hello class, welcome to charms class. This weeks lesson is all about basic spells and what they do.
Some common spells include Accio, Alohomora, Syupefy, Lumos, and Expelliarmus.
Accio
Pronunciation: ak-ee-o
Effect: Summons objects. Can be used two ways, by either casting the spell and then naming the object (i.e. Accio Notebook) or by pointing your wand at an object and casting the spell.
Alohomora
Pronunciation: AL-lo-ha-MOR-ah
Effect: Opens and unlocks doors. Not effective on doors that have been bewitched to repel the spell.
Expelliarmus
Pronunciation: ex-pel-ee-AR-mus
Effect: Disarms other wizards.
Lumos
Pronunciation: LOO-mos
Effect: Creates a beam of light which protrudes from the end of the wand.
Stupefy
Pronunciation: STOO-puh-fye
Effect: Puts the victim in an unconscious state.
They are all quite useful spells to know at any given time so be sure to study up on them.

Pick any of the five spells to write a paragraph about. A paragraph is 4-7 sentences. In the paragraph tell me all that you can about the particular spell that you have chosen.
