The Jagged mountains are Tisa greatest range. At some points the peaks reach 20,000 feet into the skies above. They hold many secrets many mysteries. Its always cold in the mountains a light mist when you reach some of the upper peaks. Everywhere there are trees. They stand very high some over 40ft. Just trying to reach the sky. On part the ground is bare because sunlight fails to reach the ground. Legend has it that an ancient tome is buried deep into the mountains stomach. Dont post until Kai starts his journey in this thread.

Kai was packed and rey with his caravan to enter the jagged mountains in search of the Tome of Liffe as the goddess had told him. Several of his friends where comming along as well. He could see Alex in the back of a carriage. Kai was on his horse as they entered the mountain.

"Kai.." He says somewhat sadly. He had a flask of potion in his hand at the moment. "Are... are you sure?" He begins to speak, his voice riddled with uncertainty. "Because there has to be another way. If you go... you may..." He tries to say again but fails.
"In the books I read, all of the people who searched for this tome wound up dead!" He announces. Not to mention the other thing that will happen. His book spoke of it clearly, a way he couldn't.
In order to gain the power of the goddess you must sacrifice a part of yourself... A part of your soul....

Kai stopped and looked at his friends concerned face. Kai did knothat there was to be a trade. For Tallia would give him more power in exchange for part of his life. Kai thought that was only fair. "Dont worry Alex all will be fine. Just a small price to pay in order to achieve what I want." said Kai with a smile.

"Please Kai, there has to be another way." He pleads the helpless case. "I could..." He begins his cries, which after a while all begin to sound the same. But is rudely interrupted by their third passenger. The pendant. A surge of red light comes from it, brighter then the usually incantations of the same effect. Alex grabs his head, in sheer agony and pain. Howls erupt from him as he suffers the torture of the pendant stealing his soul to power itself.
After what seemed like an eternity to Alex was only a split second to the world. After the episode, his body sat their. Almost entirely drained of life, he was barely conscious to be honest. He forces the last bit of energy that remained to drink the potion in his hand. Which made him recover his lost stamina partially, he would need a rest soon but he could go on.
"Kai..." He strains.

Kai listened to thw whine from Alex. He knew he wold be against it but Kai wasnt just doing this for himself he was now doing it in some ways for his kingdom. His logic was simple if he has mor power the kingdom has more power and thats always needed. He then saw his friend in pain. He could see the pendant draining his life. He felt bad that it would do that but there was no way around it. "Alex! are you alright?"

"I'm fine. I'm used to it." He tries to smile. Every hour it drained his life. And once a day he had an episode like this. "Kai, please. I understand your plight, but if we lost you... we would all be doomed. I don't want to lose my only friend again." He sighs deeply and looks upon the ground.
"I can't talk you out of it, huh?" He adds. "Please promise me, you'll come back alive." He asks as a final request. He had a feeling this will be the last time he will ever be able to talk to Kai like this. Things are going to change... for the worse.

Izreal scampered up onto the caravan looked up.
there was alot of snow and single yell could set off a monster avlauanche.
He gulped and wondered why he had come along.
he looked at them both amazed at how far they would go. he jumped off and scooped up some snow and run back beside, melting it in a pot so they could drink.

Rina had come along as well. She stayed close behind Alex, and Kai, as if making sure to watch over for them, and would gaze at the back to watch for the others as well. As always, she carried with her no more than she truly needed, always having a need to travel light. But she had brought Scarlet with her, trotting at her side as she held the reins to help guide her. She was quite on the journey to better focus on any danger, but she harbored worry for Kai, and Alex, overhearing their words, and seeing the pain Alex was struggling through. And for a moment, she gazed to the sky with wonder. Was giving away something of yours so dear really worth something like power? She had always thought having a big heart, and bravery was strength enough. Her pale blue eyes gazed back at them, as her hand gently pet Scarlet.

Nobody had seemed to realize that Kitayiu had come along. He had been hiding in the shadows of one of the horses. As soon as he had heard that Kai had been going on a search for a godlike artifact, he had to know exactly what it was, and if it could free him from his pathetic state of being.

Kai and his party journeyed deeper into the woods of the Jagged Mountains. It was getting colder and darker. When Kai heard those words "Come back alive" Kai knew not of what would await him so he said nothing. He shot a quick smile at his love Rina. Then a nod to his friend Izreal from the desert. Kai knew after he found the Tome he wouldnt be the same man anymore.

Izreal offered kai some water and looked up at a cave entrance. he silently jumped and climbed up the rock face a bit of sweat off his face dripped. he looked at the others who were watching him. he jumped up and looked around. there was a skeleton who had a sigh in his hand.
Izreal carefully walked to him and looked at the sigh:
" Ya'll be redy four ya bag bwoom, ya'll who enter adbandon all hope"
Izreal shuddered and climbed back down and looked at the caravan. it was almost night fall.....and he felt a ominous pulse coming from up the mountain.

Kitayiu shuddered, in his hiding place. He was not honestly cold, but a soul chilling wave of energy sweeped down the mountains. Was it evil? No...just insanely strong...it was times like thes where he envied people like Kai, with no magical prowess.

Izreal didn't like this. the scent of death eroded from these moutnains like the smell of blood from a body. he walked beside kai and looked at him unsure what to think of him. so much bravey for a simple human. his eye's flickered to the moutain pass up a head...a perfect spot for an ambush.

Kai was far to enveloped with the thought of power. The thought of becoming more then a mere human with the devastating limits of a 70 year mortality. He wanted so much more. He seemed colder now he was only thinking of 1 thing. Power. Its a curse all human men share. Their lust for power. Kai was only human, but that would change soon enough. He looked back at the party which was following him. No smile was shown only desire.
