I love high heels, I just have one problem: They hurt like a MoFo. I've tried a lot of different brands and styles but I find the same results almost every time. I'm wondering if there's some secret to making them comfortable, I've tried the cushions but they always make my foot mushed into the heel, and that hurts just about the same as with out. Any help or advise?

I can't help you out much sadly, I don't really like to wear heels because I think I look weird if I'm any taller than 5'4", haha. The few I own I don't find uncomfortable, though (Nine West, Charles Albert, some other one..) but used to them? A lot of shoes have to be 'broken in' to truly be comfortable, so maybe just walking around in the house would help.
What are the height of the heels that are uncomfortable?
Sorry if you've heard any of that before. :]

I read somewhere that the pin heels are what hurt, and that a more "platform" shoe is comfier... But then again that doesn't help you much, liking heels and not platforms. Hm... well, both styles lift your heel and make your leg look sexy.
(Rereading the above paragraph made me realize I suck at communication. gonk )

I heard that wedges are more comfortable, but I don't really wear wedges or heels, so I don't really know.

wedges I find to be much more comfier.
Hard for me to say though, I developed with short tendons so I'm more at ease in heels than I am with sneakers or whatnot..

When you go shopping for heels, make sure that when you walk in them your weight and balance isn't being put into the heels. It's more comfortable if it's on the balls of your feet.

I'm into as high heels as I can get. I'm rather short (at 5'4" and a half .___. and stopped growing) and like the lift. I do own a pair of platforms but I only wear them to dances and such, their comfortable enough that I don't pass out. (which nearly happened one time with my fav pair of black 4in heels)
I'm use to the weight of my body being on the balls of my feet. (ballet and all)
Wedges pose the same problems for me.

I'm not really a fan of heals, I'm already 5'7 so wearing heels makes me feel ridiculously tall. The few pair I do own are pretty comfortable but I never wear them for long periods of time.

Yeah, lol 5" 0 so yeah heels, I noticed ballet was mentioned, it was because of ballet that I developed short tendons...I had kind of a crazy, strict teacher that made us walk on the balls of our feet all the time, and since I wanted to be great, I walked on them all the time, unfortuneatly when someone does this at 3 and keeps doing it till there 6, their tendons grow short, sucks
but anyway, I love heels, so comfy
One trick I find is try to slightly nudge the heel while it's standing on the display, and if it can stand up by itself it will be a good heel, if it can't hold itself up, well, how is it going to hold up you?

Well, as far as shopping for them goes, wait until the end of the day if you can since your feet swell as the day goes on and they should feel better if you get them to accomodate this swelling. Obviously lower heels hurt less than higher heels, but I am sure you don't want to hear that. Also they have these Dr. Scholls inserts now just for women to wear with their heels. I haven't tried them myself, but other types of inserts have worked well for my dad so I see no reason why they wouldn't help here. They are availibe at drugstores and I think pretty inexpensive. Hope this helps.

i always wear heels and it seems thta regular heels hurt. I guess its because the its only that little heel in the backa nd its pushing at your foot. I also wear wedges and they never hurt. try wearing them.

I have this saying, anyone can be ugly it hurts to be beautiful. Heels may be painful but the look is classic. You could try a insole.

A few suggestions, put into point-form for easy reading:- -Get heels from a good brand: Nine West, Aldo, etc. Don't get cheapie heels because 90% of the time, the cheapie heels are the one that hurts the most. -Know what suits your feet: not everyone can use ultra high heels just like not everyone feels comfortable wearing flats/kitten heels. It depends on your heel and foot arch. Go to a shoe store one day and try on different kinds of heels to get an idea, though don't be fooled into buying the items: the salesperson is there to help but just be nice. We're all civilized people. -Break in your heels: walk with them on at home. -Spray hairspray on your foot, then put on the heel and tippy-toe for grip. Also, use a candle and rub it over the back of the edge of your shoe, the part that bites or causes blister on your skin. -Maybe as a last resort, schedule an appointment with a podiatrist. You might have some foot problem that's inevitably making you uncomfortable, like flat feet (which I have, boo! sad ) Also, you could ask the doctor which kind of shoes (ie:heels-height,style,support:straps/closed heel?) suits your feet most.
Hope I helped, but I think heels just hurt in general, if that makes you feel any better: at least you know we all suffer the same fate sweatdrop Take care whee

ninja One more night , I wanna be with you Where I wanna hold you tight…The more you wear the heels, the less the pain will be since you'll get used to it. Really.
I can also give you one of my secrets. When I get new shoes, I walk with them for one day to know where they can hurt my feet. Then, I get those thick band-aids and apply them on the wounded-parts. Next time I would wear then, they won't kill me. 3nodding
I also use the hairspray trick Firi mentioned. It works! It feels so right Tonight…
