Well I've been kinda watching a lot of 4x4 Show's lately and I just got into a jeep Chat room... And was kinda thinking it'd be neat to make a Jeep Comanche Pre-Runner. I can't but still, I want to do it. Slap either the 4.0L in it or just get some newer V8 and tuck that in there. Then Jacking it up as high as I legaly can. Puting a full external Roll cage on it. That'd be awsome... I made this mainly b/c Im tired of all the Import Thread's and not understanding what they mean... I want to talk about some thing more interesting.

Ah yes, Pre-runners. 800hp Dirt-bound ballistic missles. Gotta love 'em.
For a prerunner, you don't want to jack it up. You want to fit a lift only, and I mean only big enough for about 33 inch tires, and as much suspension travel as physically possible. For the engine, go for a small block chevy if you want horses and the 4.0 if you want to be light.
But keep the center of gravity low with a mild lift, and LOTS of suspension travel

Well I saw this Jeep Cherokee in a mag and it was all jacked up and had some kinda V8 I don't remeber what size it was. It had the Exo-skeletin and it was sweet looking... It would fly through the air on the little hill's it hit. That's what I want I just want it too fly. I want some thing bigger than 33's for tire's... Hell right now I got 28's on it and im putting 31's on the rear and 30's on the front. The only thing is the little 2.5 is kinda doggy with so much tire. It's saposted to have 205's on it. right now My truck's longer than any of the Cherokee's from that year... Is that good or bad?

If you want to jump the jeep, you don't want huge tires. In a mag I subscribe to, they had a Dodge Ram with only 35's on it. I still say 33's and
lots of suspension.
P.S.
DON'T HAVE DIFFERENT SIZE TIRES ON THE FRONT AND BACK!! YOU WILL BREAK s**t!

You can't do that bad of damage with different size tire's... when I got it it had 31's and 29's. Hell most muscle cars have big a** tire's on the rear and tiny ones on the front... Most Dunebuggy's do. A lot of thing's have different sized tire's.

You MUST use the same size tires all around for 4x4 and AWD vehicles.
The differentials don't like it when the wheels are traveling at different rotation speeds for extended periods.
2wd vehicles don't have to worry about that sort of thing.

Oh... Well yeah I knew that. My jeep's currently 2 wheel drive. If I make it a 4x4 I would deffenetly put the same sizetire's on it. I though you guy's were talking about when It was 2x4 b/c then it don't make a difference.

Yeah I kinda forgot to state that it's 2 wheel drive in this topic.I think I said it in my other truck topic... So how much do you guy's think this would cost? Im kinda cheep so I'd get most of my part's from junkyard's or make it. I found out today Dark_Stang's boss mite be able to make me a roll bar and a Brush gard. Then even get it powder coated if I wanted... But like I said Im cheep so I'll just paint it. I mite not get it b/c I need to put some money in my other truck.

Good idea to have a roll bar. And a big front bumper so that if you plant the front end in terra firma, you won't have the engine riding shotgun.

My dad think's It's a stupid Idea and it'd cost too much. So If Im gonna do anything It'll be make my sonoma nicer... The jeep's just gonna end up a truck for the yard till my bro get's his licence. (4 Year's)
