Name: Carcacaren (means something like ‘Red Fang’ in Quenya), Carca for short
Homeland: She was raised in Rohan, very near to Fangorn, but is probably an elf
Description: Tall, around 5 foot 9; with long straight brown-black hair; slightly pointed ears(not quite the pointed ears of an elf, but not the rounded ears of a human. Possibly she is a half blood) yellow-green eyes; generally wears dark green or brown, prefers to wear a hooded cloak, boots, a tunic, and leggings; carries a sword, on her hip, a bow slung across her back,(her quiver is attached to her swordbelt) and a staff in her hand, which doubles as a walking stick
Age: unknown, but has lived with the Humans for about 14 years,
Gender: Female
Race: Not sure, but has the grace, height, and slender form of a Wood Elf. ears are also more pointed than a mortal's
Weapons/powers/skills (optional): Good with animals, especially horses; skilled with the sword, bow, and knows how to use most weapons; knows which herbs have which uses; knows some Elvish, a little Gondorian(they have their own tongue, don’t they?), and is fluent in Common; has a little healing power, mostly for healing minor wounds and helping larger wounds to heal faster; can read body language really well; and has a little attack magic, such as making her blade (or arrows) flame a little to inflict more damage, stuff like that.
Really weird quirks: dislikes crowded places, spends all her free time in the Fangorn Forest, and can’t abide the smell of dandelions or apples
History: She was found as a toddler on the fringe of Fangorn and was raised by a small family, consisting of: the father, Eorod, the mother, Wenthel, one older brother, Ethan, one older sister, Athe, and one younger brother, Firnad. Since they thought she was at least part elf, they gave her an Elven name, in the Quenya language. She lived there for fourteen years, and then her foster parents confronted her and told her that as she was probably an elf, she should living like one and make her own way, or get married. She decided to leave and seek her fortune, and set off through the Fangorn to see what life could throw at her.
Sample Post (2-3 paragraphs):
Carcacaren breathed in deeply, luxuriating in the rich smell of earthy loam and mossy trees. She sat up, stretched, and yawned as she became more fully awake. She stood and started to break camp: she shook out her cloak, which she had been sleeping in, fastened it around her shoulders; straightened her swordbelt; attached her quiver; slung her bow over her shoulder; picked up her staff; and started walking in a generally northern direction, judging by the glow of the rising sun in the East. Eventually, she reasoned, she would end up somewhere in the Misty Mountains, probably close to Lorien.
Carcacaren unconsciously increased her walk to a slow lope, long strides leading her over twisted, gnarled and distorted roots, under thick, heavy, green-laden branches. Her breathing quickened, but not to gasping. She remembered the stories that the old storyteller in her village used to tell, of talking trees that dwelt in the Forest. She wondered if the stories were true, and if they were, if she would meet one, if she would meet a talking tree. She smiled at the prospect; she had always loved unusual and intriguing things, and the possibility of talking trees fascinated her.
Finally, her pace slowed. She returned to a walk, gasping slightly. She slowed, stopped, and looked at the direction of the sun. She judged herself to be heading too far northeast and corrected her course, turning a little to the left. She started again with a slow walk, taking her time to examine the trees around her, marveling at how humanoid some of them looked. She stopped beside one particularly lifelike one, and put her hand against it, looking curiously at the squat face, wondering if someone had carved it, but deciding it looked to natural to have been manmade. She finally touched one of the ‘eyes’ and started as it moved under her fingertips, opening to reveal an amber-brown eyeball. She gasped and stepped back in surprise.
