Luke's door opens and in he steps from the hallway. After waving and telling his new friend he'll see her later, and D walking off, Luke decided it's time to get to know his new room. The first thing he sees is the first thing he wants. His bag drops to the floor and he immediately steps to the bed and stiffly falls over on it, his door wide open.

Lilith was making her way up through the place, checking everything out when she came across an open door. She leaned on the frame and looked inside. It was on okay room but her attention zoomed in on the person lying on the bed. "You know, best not to have the door open like this. Who knows what kind of person could just sneak on in."

Luke rolls over and grins up at the girl. "Yeah, but then how would I meet new people?" He does make a valid point. Every place he's ever stayed, he's left the door open the first night and he always finds someone new will come right in and talk to him. Mostly girls, but hey, he's never complained. ^.^

Lilith thought about this for a minute before nodding her head. "Okay, you make a good point. So, why you here anyway? Came of your own free will or sent here?" She didn't leave the door frame and just stared at him. She was not exactly the best conversationalist since she never really learned the meaning of tact. "I'd say you chose to be here like some obedient little pet who was given a choice."

Luke's grin fades only for a moment. "I was told about this place...this Haven for Mutants..." He glances at the bag he had brought with him...everything he called his was in that black bag laying in the floor. "I came of free will...but I don't know if you can really call it a choice or not." He sits up and stares at the floor a moment as he tells her why without her asking. "I first got here, to Hampshire, yesterday. I used all my money to stay at a hotel last night." He stands and walks to the glass door to the balcony. Looking out, he grins softly. "I guess I could've stayed out there...but it just seemed logical to come here, don't you think?" He looks around at her and smiles.

Lilith finally pushed off the door frame and walked in, staying at the end of the bed, staring at him. "A logical choice you say? You think it's logical to come here? How the hell is it a logical choice? We are outcasts here! We basically cried out to the world saying, 'Look at us! We are mutants and are living in this one section! Come and attack us!' So please, tell me, how is it a logical choice?"

His smile fades and for the first time in a long time, his tone gets serious. "If you hate this place so much, why are you here?" He turns again to look out the door again. "Staying here is as if one is saying; 'Look at me. I need help.' Clearly you have this world figured out..." He turns to face her again, his eyes shining with a bit of concern. There's no sign of anger in his face, but an expressionless look... "So tell me...what's 'logical' about you staying here?" He turns again and stares out into the sky. "Until you can tell me that, I stand firm in my belief that I'm right where I need to be."

"My reason for being here is my business." She glared at him, folding her arms. "Besides, it doesn't matter what my reason for being here is anyway. No one cares about us freaks so it doesn't really matter where I am, be it on the streets or in here."

Luke closes his eyes, his back still turned. "You say this place is so bad, you criticize my comming here, then when confronted with the same question you gave me, you tell me to mind my own business." He turns to face her, no longer any concern in his face, yet still no anger...just a stern look. "If all you can do is gripe, complain, and glare at me, I ask that you leave my room. Good night to you." And with that, he turns and looks out at the dimming sky again.

She glared at him, filled with angry but she didn't move. "I was.....forced to come here. The government didn't exactly give me many options. It was this or a high level security facility where they could keep a watchful eye on me. So, I chose the latter. Better than being some damn guinea pig."

He turns to her, his eyes showing nothing but compassion. "Have you spoken to the headmaster about it? He may be able to help you." Turning back to the door to the balcony, he opens it, letting in a soft breeze. "But the only way you can receive help is if you are willing to allow someone to help you." He glances back at her. "Until you decide you need help, I'm afraid there's nothing you or anyone can do." And with that, he turns and steps out onto his balcony...

Lilith sat down on his bed and figured he would probably tell her to get off or leave. She didn't care though. "No one can help. Besides, most think I should go with the government. Might help everyone out in the end anyways. They figure if they can harness my power they can control the weather patterns and never have droughts again. No one seems to get that I can only manipulate water, not create it."

((Um, I hate to bother you Ace but, would it be too much trouble to have Luke respond? Unless, he doesn't want to but if that's the case would you be so kind as to tell me?))

((Well, for the record, I've been debating how to respond. Luke is out on his room's balcony. Lilith is sitting on his bed. This isn't exactly convo distance. I appologise but I'm just thinking.))

There was silence for a minute before Lilith sighed and stood up. "Sorry for having walked on in like that and adding my troubles to whatever you already have on your plate. I'm just gonna get out of your way now." She headed for the door, kind of in a bad mood. She hated talking about her reason for being there and wished she didn't have to be. Wished there was someplace else she could go and not have to watch what she says around others.
