I just sold my CA m4a1 so I could have enough money to go on a trip over the summer with my friends.
Now I have two options, I can work over the summer for a few weeks, dip into my college savings a bit, and get a Classic Army CA8-2, or spend $100 on an Echo m4a1, and get the CA8-2 for my birthday, in four months.
How good is Echo? Will it last me four months until I get a CA? It has a metal gearbox and is stock FPS, but it's not all metal.
So, will Echo last about four months until I get my CA8-2, and be worth $100?

Echo is basically a re-sold Chinese aeg. Instead of paying for shipping, you're cutting in a middleman and getting a warranty.
Either way, they should be decent. Not exceptional like a TM or CA, but unless you get a lemon (which should be about as often as you find a lemon anything else) it'll last you longer than 4 months.
Personally, I would buy from a site/store that actually has the Chinese brand on the label. Cuts down on some fees and you know exactly what brand you're buying from. CYMA, AGM, JG, and ARMY are supposed to be the best choices for the price range.

It will last you. It out shot and out lasted my Ca M15 car. Its an upgraded Ca without the metal body. The gun is built to last. The gun is a rebrand of JG only with better parts including metal spring guide, exact copy of ca gears and motor. It also has a diffrent type of reinforced gear box. The only thing is I recomend buying a 9.6 batt. The little 8.4 it comes with wont last due to its upgraded. I would recomend this: http://onlybatterypacks.com/showitem.asp?ItemID=1157It will require you to remove the fake gas tube in the hand gaurds. Hope this helps
