 Day had decided to go to and indoor arena this time, but she was going to try something new. A rocky stadium greeted Aaron and her, and this would give neither Pokemon an advantage. "Aaron, get ready!" she said. Her semi-soft voice echoed off of the boulders on the battle field several times before fading.
Aaron, a Doduo, stood tall, ready to fight.
"Go! Peck attack!" He nodded, and abit nervous, ran to the Skitty with two glowing beaks.

Falcon didn't much like the indoor stadiums; but Kiliina had seemed uneasy at being outside again, probably thanks to the soaking she had taken in her last match and Falcon telling her about rain. She had waited for her opponent to arrive; and once in the arena, they had begun. "Kiliina, avoid that!" She ran sharply to one side- directly under the second beak! She let out a sharp mewl of pain; dashing to the side. The beak had sunk into her flank; and it started bleeding. "Just do your best, Kiliina! Use Tackle!" The tiny Skitty nodded; and sprinted towards the Doduo, limping on her wounded leg and leaving a trail of blood drops. When she drew close, she launched herself into the air. (Dice Roll) Despite her injury, Kiliina managed to put a fair amount of power into the attack. Falcon held her breath to see how it would react; they never fought to win, but Falcon still wanted to avoid serious injury. 6 Damage! 6 * 16 / 16 = 6

Distracted by the blood, Aaron tuned out Day's voice when she yelled for him to dodge the attack. In fact, he wasn't even aware of the Skitty about to hit him. Aaron's legs buckled and he fell with Kiliina on top of him. Scrambling out from underneath her, he could hear Day calling,
"Body slam!"
It was about the only attack that he had enough time to perform, and he jumped up into the air, trying to land on Kiliina.

"Kiliina, move!" The tiny feline dodged to one side; but the attack still landed, and it landed on her wonded flank. She let out a mewling cry of pain; but whirled around. Falcon didn't leave her to wonder what her next attack would be. "Go, use Iron Tail!" The Skitty instantly spun, hardening her tail as she did so; before flicking it out from her body, so the spin would send it into the Doduo. (Dice Roll) But as she spun, she tried to put her weight on her wounded leg- and it gave out. She yelped, losing all momentum- and power- in her attack. 1 Damage! 1 * 16 / 16 = 1

Aaron remembered this attack from his last battle, and almost lifted his leg quickly enough to avoid the attack, but not quite. A quiet snap could be heard as his nail broke off, but no more damage than a few beads of blood occurred.
Day didn't want to see Aaron hit the Skitty in the same spot, but the Pokemon was so small that it would be hard not to. "Try to aim anywhere but that wounded flank, and use quick attack!"
Doduo would have frowned if he didn't have a beak. He ran, slower than usual, to Kiliina with a quick attack, and tried to aim for her tail.

"Kiliina, watch out!" Falcon called to the Skitty as she tried to recover. She spun around just as the Doduo attacked- causing it's attack to land on the one spot it was trying to avoid. She shrieked in pain as her abused leg bled faster; soaking her paw. Falcon winced; she was sure the nurses would patch her up fine, but she couldn't help but worry. Still... "Kiliina!" The tiny Skitty looked up at her; her eyes filled with pain. "Kiliina... Do your best. I believe in you. Use Return!" The small feline nodded; she sprinted the short distance between her and the Doduo, before launching herself into an attack. (Dice Roll) She threw all she had into the Return; the attack of loyalty. Tears flew from her eyes as she flew through the air at the Doduo; she wouldn't give up, no matter how much it hurt; no matter how bad the situation. Not whilst she had Falcon! 8 Damage! 8 * 16 / 16 = 8

The Skitty must have liked Falcon a lot, because the attack sent Aaron smashing into the wall. He slid to the dirt before pushing himself up.
Some people would see an advantage in this situation, but Day hated seeing Kiliina suffer. Hopefully Aaron wasn't too angry about that last attack, at least not angry enough to hurt the feline badly.
"Try a mud slap, but aim at her feet!"
It couldn't possibly hurt much, could it? Aaron tottered on tired legs, and then had to dig deep into the ground for mud that he threw at Kiliina's feet. It flew close to the ground, coming at the Skitty quickly.

Kiliina backed away, watching curiously as she tried to keep her weight off her leg. The mud slopped into her face; not really designed to hurt her, she reared up on her back leg, scrubbing at her muddied face with her front paws- but she was putting too much weight on her injured leg and it gave out. She mewled with pain, and not a little annoyance at her dirtied face. Falcon shook her head; last fight water, this fight mud. Kiliina would be most annoyed once healed up. Still, she encouraged the Skitty on; aware it may be the last command she gave this fight. "Come on, Kiliina! Use Tackle!" The tiny feline pulled herself to her paws; and sprinted at the Doduo on three legs; her forth, injured and bloody, tucked into her underside. (Dice Roll) Despite her pain, her discomfort, and the damned mud coating her face, Kiliina wasn't giving up. She knew she was beaten; but she threw all her energy into the leap as she hurled herself into the air, and at the Doduo. 7 Damage! 7 * 16 / 16 = 7

Even with an injured leg, Kiliina managed a powerful attack. Aaron fell down, his legs pushed back, and his heads hit the ground hard. A pained squeak escaped his beaks, and he saw how pathetic it was for him to be fighting an injured Pokemon.
Now that the Skitty was down to a low hp, Day figured that it would be less painful for her to faint quickly. "Finish this, hurry! Use peck!"
Aaron saw what he was supposed to do, and darted forward to try and end the battle.

Falcon knew what was happening; and she let it. Kiliina tried to avoid the peck; but the pain of trying to move was too much for her, and her legs gave out. The final attack finished her off- although both her and her Trainer knew it was decided from that first wound. Falcon sprinted over to Kiliina as her head flopped onto the ground. She pulled a vial of spray from her back as she ran; and scooped up the limp form. "You did great", she whispered; as she sprayed Kiliina's wound. The wound started healing visibly from her administrations; and the dirty, bloodied Pokemon wiggled slightly in her hold, letting out tiny mewls of complaint. It probably stung; but it was better then bleeding profusely everywhere. Falcon looked over to the other Trainer. "You make a good team. Well done." Her voice was slightly awkward, her not being that good with people; but she meant it.

Aaron looked at Kiliina as if to apologize, but being shy, was unable to. He watched as the wound stopped bleding and the skin around it closed and healed. Day ran over to see what was happening.
"So do you two." she paused, thinking of what else to say. "That was a nice battle, and Kiliina was tough considering her flank." she smiled weakly, guilty about the damage done.

Falcon lightly ran her fingertips over the newly-healed skin. The fur wouldn't grow back immediately- not without help from a Pokemon Centre- but she wasn't bleeding anymore. Falcon pulled a rag from her bag and started trying to clean the mud from Kiliina's face; who set up a sleepy purr.
"Indeed; she never does give up." Falcon smiled proudly at her tiny feline. "She never has done. She always gives her all until she no longer can." Apart from that time she got soaked, Falcon finished in her mind.

Day looked at the content Skitty. She was cute when she wasn't a mess, sort of playful looking. "I can tell. That's admirable in a Pokemon." she said.

Falcon nodded as Kiliina tried to grab the rag with her front paws.
"I taught them from the day I met them to never give up. You know, you're not making this easy." This was directed at Kiliina, who had grabbed the rag between sleepy paws. Falcon gently freed it and continued to remove the mud from her messy Pokemon.
