Larissa shook herself off from the water. She had thought for sure he was going to chase her for spitting the water in his face. But he didn't. He looked almost....disappointed.
She sat herself in the shade, and licked her paws dry. The sun glistened down on her blue fur, and her markings showed vibrantly now that she was clean.
She looked up at Bast. "Moving on? I hadn't really thought about it. I don't have anywhere to go," she frowned at the thought of having to leave. "My family is gone. I have wandered for days..or maybe weeks....looking for somewhere new to call home. Not exactly an easy feat in this desert."

Bast's ears perked.
"You, you could... stay... here..." He trailed off having looked up hopefully at her. Her fur was beautiful, like sapphires. And her marking were beautiful too. So pretty.
He didn't notice his jaw was hanging a touch. He also didn't realize the image he made, a large black wolf fur still dripping water from swimming sticking out and slicked to his body by odd turns.
"You're pretty." He whispered, then blushed not meaning to have it slip out.
"I ah, I mean, There;s no one here but me. And there's always food. And water. But no one but me...
You could stay a while?"
His look was almost pleading, and someone puppyish with his fur dripping like it was, an odd impression for a large full grown male.

Her heart jumped. Larissa was hoping to not have to leave here. It was beautiful, and had everything she could hope for...plus a new companion.
She couldn't hide her smile.
She blushed as Bast told her she was pretty, but he quickly changed the subject before she had time to respond to him.
"Yes, I think I could manage to stay here awhile if you'll have me", she nudged him with her nose, giving him a quick nuzzle in thanks for all that he had done for her already. "I can't thank you enough, Bast. This means a lot to me."

Bast brightened at her response, and seemed to explode into sudden movement prancing around her happily.
"Of course I'll have you, would you like to look around?"
He asked while stopping a moment to shake any remaining water from his fur.
"Or we could sunbathe, and get the water from our fur. Or... or...."
He trailed off still seeming to orbit her, a sapphire planet with a oversized black energetic moon.

Larissa giggled as Bast pranced around her. She didn't think another wolf would actually be happy to have her around. After all, her own family had abandoned her and left her for dead. Whether or not that was their true intention, she didn't know and probably never would.
As he circled around her, she watched him and admired him. She bowed playfully at him and started batting at his tail as it went around her.
"Sunbathing sounds nice, I hate my fur being all wet when I'm not in the water," she replied still playing with his tail as he went around and around her.

Bast swished his tail around as she batted at it and used it to lead her up the steps.
Swishing his tail back and forth he paused, then turned torads the sude of the temple closest to the sun. the stone underfoot was almost burning hot, but he knew where relief was, and quickly lead her to some raised wood platforms with wicker. He lept on a large one with room for at least three wolves his size quickly to stop the burning, and sat turning his head into an unconciously regal position and watched her move, enjoying the rich color of her fur in the sunlight.
Here's a good spot>" He said with a charming smile.

Larissa giggled and smiled as she followed Bast up the stairs, batting at his tail. She was so happy to have a place to stay and a companion, that she just couldn't hide it.
She followed him onto a wooden platform where he laid down. He looked content laying there, and she jumped up onto the platform with him, and laid down next to him, but not quite touching him. He was very handsome indeed, but she had just met him afterall. She had ended up having her heart broken once, and didn't intend to let it happen so easily again...
She had loved once...she thought he loved her too. He was sweet to her, polite and said all the right things at all the right times. Just like Bast was now. However, in the end it turns out that her old "love" was just telling her what she wanted to hear, just to keep her around, but in the meantime she wasn't the only one he had wrapped around his paw.
She sighed and watched Bast. She hoped this wolf was different, but she was going to be more careful this time, or at least try. Bast had saved her life after all.

Bast let out a happy sigh as she joined him. He flipped his tail over to lie on top of hers and layed his head down on his paws, closing his eyes.
It wasn't long before he was asleep in the warm sun, but it wasn't an empty sleep like it had always been before. Now he had a friend, he was not alone.
He was not alone.
The phrase echoed in his thoughts, warm and pushing back the dark night terrors that had recently taken him. He was too far asleep to notice when he rolled onto his side slightly to lean against Larissa, and other sigh escaping him as his tail curled around hers happily.
